Not too sure about this episode, found it a little bit boring and, personally, think we're getting nowhere fast and every episode produces more questions than answers and I think I'm getting a bit bored at the mo

I too thought it was a flashback, even when Jack walked in and I'm thinking 'they knew each other before'???

I thought Kate called the child 'Eric' but everyone else is saying Aaron and looking back on the scene's with Clare that probably makes sense. Strange scene between Kate and Jack, with Kate saying 'do you want to come for a visit' and Jack not wanting to. That seemed like a big issue between them and I dont get that yet. Does that suggest that Clare is alive (I know someone said its revealed in the spoiler thread, but I dont want to go there) and that Kate took Aaron off the Island against Clare's will and that's why Jack doesn't want to visit??? Very strange. And Kate wont have coffee with him until he does, I'm confused, but whats new with Lost.

As I said at the start, I do feel its getting a bit tedious now. I'm watching because I have to but are we going to get any answers by the end of this season? And how long are we going to have to wait until next season. Hopefully next week produces something to keep my interest.

I must say Locke's move with Miles was genius, lol, but Locke's renegade act is getting a bit too much for me. As is the losties sitting on porch's drinking coffee, it just seems to have gone off in the wrong direction compared to season 1 and 2. We'll see...

Ok major ramble here, the whole Aaron thing totally confused me, however it could be any of the following options (some ideas mentioned in other threads):

Kate kidnaps Aaron (kinda cruel, plus Kate is pretty matey with Claire)
Kate is looking after Aaron as Claire is dead (possibly, who else would look after him if she died?)
Kate is looking after Aaron as for some reason Claire is stuck on the island (kinda same question as above)
Kate has a baby with Sawyer and names him Aaron as Claire's Aaron dies (explains the blonde hair, fits in with increased fertility, however calling him the same name is a bit freaky)
Kate has a baby with someone else but calls him Aaron anyway (same issues as above)

However we must take into account the age of Aaron - i'm guessing 2/3 (i work with kids, at that age they still take naps but can speak). Kate's mum hasn't seen her in four years, but we do not know how long was between seeing Kate before 815/Getting 'Lost'/Kate's trial - however 4 years does mean it is physically possible for Kate to have had her own kid;
(4 years - [2/3 years + 9 months]) = could have got pregnant just on the island/after getting rescued. But Aaron is definately blonde which provides a link with Claire/Aaron as he is now, but Sawyer as well - basically the kid has blonde genes but we don't know who he got them from.
Also if Claire's Aaron got off the island would he be classed as one of the oceanic six? Technically he survived the crash and the island but he wasn't physically present when they boarded/crashed.
And why doesn't Jack want to see him? Either he dissaproves of what Kate is doing (could link with first theory), he blames himself for Claire dying/being stuck on the island (Jack gets guilty quite often), the kid is Sawyers (definate obvious issues there)or the kid is someone else's (Jack loves Kate, Kate has someone else's kid, issues also arise there).
Basically it's another episode with more questions asked then answers gained but i don't mind, I got to watch a lot of half naked Sawyer so i'm happy!

Wasn't a great episode on its own, but ts going to be a great setup for further episodes.

I don't believe it is Claire's Aaron. If it is why would Kate act so strangely when Claire asks Kate if she'd like to hold the baby while they are putting the washing on the line? It was as if she was hiding something, as if it reminded her of her baby Aaron whom she had abandoned while she went on the run as a fugitive.

So I reckon Jack doesn't want to visit Kate and the baby because he feels bad about leaving Claire and Aaron on the Island.

Or

Jack's Dad and Kate had a baby...

I LOVE the idea that she already had a child before she crashed, but, I don't see why Jack wouldn't want to see the child if that was so and I don't understand why she hasn't mentioned it. She has no reason not to mention it.

I think a lot of gaps needed to be filled in with relation to the timeline due to all this Kate's mum being ill for 4 years etc etc. I think there must have been that gap before the crash. I don't see Kate going on a trial ages after she is rescued - surely it would be straight away? Maybe Kate wasn't told that her Mum was ill for a while, maybe her mum was ill for a couple of years but didn't tell her. This 4 years business has got us all stumped hasn't it lol?!

I believe it is Claire's Aaron. I don't see the point otherwise.

I thought last nights episode was ACE last night, Locke, ha ha ha with the grenade, but who the hell does he think he is....then, Kate WHAT......she just uses Sawyer, and thats getting on my wick. Lets just put it this way, just looking at him in bed, would make want to stay in it with him FOREVER....silly cow .

Then flashforward time, the baby, joyfully I thought she may have had a baby with Sawyer, but now it looks like shes got Claire's baby, so whats happened to Claire [sorry guys cant put question marks in - it makes my PC do weird things]. Either that, she's had Sawyer or Jacks baby, and liked the same Aaron so much she's chosen it....

I wasnt too impressed by LOST's performance last night. The on-island stuff was duller than a rainy day.
Ive not read all the posts, but has anyone considered that Jack wont accept kates child Aaron because he knows that he is his uncle. remember that Jack and Claire are siblings. Maybe he found out on the island that they are related. Claire being dead or not doesnt really matter.

other points include:

why was it so important for jack to lie in court about how many survived the crash (only 8 was it)?
Why was the episode called egg town?
Why hasnt there been any major jungle action so far this season i.e. black smoke monster confrontations etc. im getting quite bored of everyone standing around.
Why does Hurley always get 'scooby dooed'?

All I can say is my favourite part of the entire episode was:

"My Name is John Locke and I am responsible for the well-being of this island."

been thinking about the whole 'why wouldn't jack want to see the baby' thing and the only thing i can come up with is something to do with the fact that jack and claire were revealed to be half brother and sister so maybe he can't take seeing someone else bringing up his sisters child, especially if the way it came about (claires untimely death?) was alot for jack to take??!! i don't know lol! i'll keep thinking about it haha!!

Aaron (as in Kates baby Ep 4) was credited in the titles with being a character of 2yrs old (YES they actually STATE his age)...

....So if he is only two and it is the real Aaron (ie Claires baby) and not a baby of her own she named Aaron just to confuse us then they must manage to get off the island quite quickly!!!

Unless like Richard Aaron does not age in the same way as everyone else????

If the Time Delay theory is right, and they have already been on island for 4 years in outside terms, but 3 months in island time, but taking into account it looks as though Kate was off island for some time before her trial/incarceration and us seeing the baby, well, it just doesnt make any sense at all!! (sorry, I thought i was going somewhere, then realised half way through I was actually still confused!)

Which ever way i look at my own or some one elses calculations NOTHING seems to add up!

Sounds like a darn good theory to me nick! There has to be a reason. Either he has seen a nice crib on MTV that he wants to buy in Beverley Hills, he owes someone that amount of money (but I would ask for more just to cover my rse if that was me) or you are right, it was some kind of code. Like Naomis "tell my sister I love her" was a code for "everythings gone belly up"

Would be logical, seeing as he wanted to see Ben on his own, but Kate refused to leave. If he needed to get some info over to Ben that he didnt want Kate to hear...............

I'm just wondereing if we have two Lostie deaths to come at some point this season (or beyond).

Jack lies and says there were 8 survivors - but two died. Why discuss these two? Could it be that two of our losties will die before the end of the season - and that their bodies were found by the 'rescuers'. Part of their cover story was to explain that their deaths had occured due to the crash / life after the crash??

It is also interesting to consider whether Aaron is one of the Oceanic 6. No-one seemed too bothered by Kate's child - almost as if he were not that well known in the celebrity story...if he is not to be counted then there are still 2 others to discover...but four more characters have 'centric' episodes yet in this run of seven episodes (I'll white it out for real spoiler avoiders) Desmond, Juliet, Sun and Jinso which of these four do not make it off the island - and therefore do not have flashforwards (or at least not to the 'real' world.)

The second of those names is an interesting one - because of the implications whether she were rescued / found dead on island?? She'd need a fake identity surely...
