I remember watching The Naked Civil Servant with Quentin Crisp hope it's as good as that was.

I remember that too - it was brilliant although quite upsetting too.

I should really like them to show the whole "Queer as Folk" series again. I just loved that.

Yes it should be great, particularly in light of the cast. Also Artymags have you seen the American version of Queer as folk? It lasted so much longer and the characters were explored far deeper.

I'm not entirely sure whether the trailer has done much for me... but I'll still be watching

Very VERY offended! I was looking forward to this! WHY? because I thought it would be normal! So people will now think THIS is what life is really like for gay people?! HONESTLY! Who would live like that? I have never done Any of that. I have a partner and we make love, ONLY with eachother,(CHEATING on the day of a civil partnership?!), I've never slept with a child (well when i was 16 I slept with another 16yo!), went Cottaging, was a peeping Tom and masturbating while watching them, been to a club where people, etc etc etc! THIS THING IS MENT TO SHOW GAY PEOPLE JUST LIVE NORAML LIVES, NOBODY I HAVE MET IS LIKE THIS! it's every cliché in the book Short of the village people riding through on a big motorbike!

I'm barely watching to be honest it's in the background to be fair nothings grabbed my attention seems a bit depressing maybe it's the violin thats constantly playing and everyone is a victim of sorts.

The award winning playwright, Kevin Elyot, wrote this, who also wrote the hit play, My Night with Reg. He is a gay man who feels very strongly that you can't legislate against prejudice - sure you can now get married, but homophobia is still a big part of modern life.

Thats put it in perspective at least I now know how to approach it.

Very depressing.

No matter how many people say attitudes have changed we all know there are alot of people out there that will still dislike and hate gay people and will carry on being prejudised.

Really good. if not extremley depressing.. its irritating to thing that now most of the public think we act like that.. -_- A. i dont do drugs.. B.I dont cheat.. C.i dont do "random" sex D. im not a pedo. hm... but anyway well done.. definatley got the shock factor

I didn't like it, yes there is homophobia everywhere and thats the whole point of the programme, but i just wish i would see a drama about a gay couple with a happy ending! aslo why did the boy with the violin get beaten up? was he even gay?

I've already posted in another thread. Thanks a bunch for encouraging the view held by some closed minded folk that gay men are paedophiles. I am more stunned now to learn that this was written by a gay man. What a fool is he? What on earth was he thinking?

That film has left me speechless! I have just sat in silence for two hours in complete horror! Frightening stuff! I would like to think this kind of thing doesnt happen any more. AM i just living in my own little world where everything is rosey? I am gay, but I dont want to be associated with any of the people in that film at all. We have to remeber it wasnt real and just a film I guess so hats off to the actors and actresses who were in it. Very well put together but still very harrowing!

It did seem to smack of breathtaking stupidity, to try and "represent" gay men as promiscuous, violent, paedophilic monsters, seeking sex in toilets and parks.
