Generally, one part ketchup mixed with six parts mayonnaise (e.g. 1 tbsp ketchup, 6 tbsp mayonnaise). Sometimes a tablespoon of lemon juice and a dash of a chili sauce (such as Tabasco) is added. Usually served with shrimp; sometimes served with French Fries in Belgium.
Thanks Sizz and thanks mrs o I will try that I will be rushing to the shop tomorow

Bingette, look for jars of thousand island dressing, that is very, very similar and I'm sure that'll do you fine if you don't want to make it. I know Colmans do one, and Kraft (they do a low fat version too), and I'm pretty sure most supermarkets will do their own make.

Ive seen it in most supermarkets. Called seafood sauce or prawn cocktail sauce. Colemans do it as well as some supermarket own brand versions. Mass produced Thousand Island dressing tastes the same too.
But, as pointed out, it's easy to make your own and you can experiment using some of the following and adjust the taste to your own choice. Mayo, Ketchup, Lemon Juice, Worcester Sauce or Tabasco, Paprika, Black Pepper, Salt. Even a little brandy in it gives it a nice depth.
