My wife loves the following evening meal
freshly made potatoe picklets with smoke salmon rocket greens, with crem fresh and horsradish followed by baby rack of lamb and seasonal veg with a delious red wine juis, followed by her total fav pudding of home made pannacota. and rest with a good cup of baileys coffee.
Thumbs Up

Yeah, it's probably better if I keep the man away from the kitchen. It means the kitchen won't turn into a blazing inferno and I won't have food poisoning. Smile

He should do something simple and pay attention to the ambience before during and after the meal. Though I daresay if the menu was a simple mixed leaf salad with feta, a medium/rare steak with a nice creamy sauce served with seasonal veg and oven roasted potatoes and then a white chocolate cheesecake served with fresh berries, swilled down with a nice bit of fizz and strawberries I may not notice the lack of music, candles and flowers and if I he washed up whilst I took a long hot and fragrant bath before bedtime then I may be pursuaded to be in the mood!

Ladies I love cooking for my wife and children, it is a pleasure, at least we can all eat what has been cooked, without breaking our teeth on 3 hour cooked salmon.

I prefer my wife to do anything else sept cooking, I encourage her to get herself ready and the kids for bed whilst I will put everything in the dishwasher, clean down the work surfaces etc.

I aways do the sandwiches for the next day, for all of us.

I baked a VALENTINES Cake all in pink with red roses all over and a love message writen on the top, and took it to her place of work without leaving who sent it, yes my wife loved it and so did all the staff, dinner ladies etc.

Hi Suarve

Your family is lucky to have a man to cook for them.

For the rest of us, have husbands (male Partners) rather be down the pub getting drunk or just relaxing in the chair whilst us woman do everything for them.

So good on you Mr chef (suarve) keep on cooking should your wife get bored of you, just come back and I will have you cook for me is that ALL RIGHT Suarve?

Hubby cooked lasagne last night, nothing special you may say and it didn't put me in the mood but he decided to make his own bechamel instead of one from a jar, I usually make bechamel for lasagne myself when I cook it but he has never tried before. I have to say it was the nicest bechamel I have ever tasted, he took it from a cookery book bought for me as a stocking filler at Christmas called British Favorite Food, yes I know that lasagne is not British but it was in there. I am most certainly going to use this recipe in future rather than my old one.

Well it just goes to show that us Ladies can trust our man in our lifes to cook us a good quality meal.

Mine is too fat and bone idle to cook me a decent meal.

I know I married him, but he was a skinny man then. Oh well keep on dreaming....

What a shame Aloo, though he may need a bit of nurturing and encouragement in that department, make time to plan something with him (in a culinary sense), teach him in the art of cookingf as a way of perhaps foreplay. Helping him to mix and stir the ingredients and then enjoying them together, perhaps this could be the way to make him try to please with other pleasing results! They are but simple folk, lead them down the path and they will more than eagerly drink the water at the pool. Big Grin
