Anyone else disappointed about "The Big Food Fight"
The pre-season ads showed the big 3 chefs on a team building day. I was really looking forward to some kind of reality tv with the three of them. Instead we just get a bunch of docus, trotting out the same old rubbish like intensive farming.

Yes I agree it did look like a team building day- how clever was that? to get people that are not really interested in the importance of the way animals are kept, watching the show!! Hats off to you channel 4 an excellent advert for the programme which hopefully will change the attitudes of many, including restaurant managers who will hopefully find the only wasy eople will eat in their restaurants is if the meat is free range, keep up the good work

Don't think it was clever at all, but totally misleading.
I use free range, corn fed chicken in my restaurant, so I have no need for a programme to "change my attitude" but these docus are not telling us anything new - just another chance for celebrity chefs to boost their profile.

I have to agree I was a bit baffled by the advertising & would have been intrigued to see these chefs on a camping trip together, however I think the shows that have come out so far have been brilliant & sparked far more debate than the camping trip would have.

I too thought that it would be a reality tv camping trip/team building day with Hugh, Jamie and Gordon. But how great would that have been? Can I suggest that Channel 4 actually makes that show as the advert looked fantastic. But after all that, I did watch both Hughs and Jamies programmes and it has definately opened my eyes as to how chickens are reared. I think people did need to watch the docus because not everyone was aware of the process, and hopefully like me, it has changed more than a few minds as to how they buy their chicken from now on.

YOU have no need, but you're in the food industry. It's always important to remember that the greater percentage of the population tend not to pay attention to things unless they are pointed out.
I already knew most of this purely because of my interest in food and knowing a few chefs. Yes, none of their careers will be harmed because of it, but hopefully the end justifies the means. I only wish they'd tackled intensive pig-farming at the same time.
