Don't want to use a deep fat fryer, is it possible to just pan fry whitebait without killing myself?

or maybe shallow fry it,or do it in the oven or under the grill

I've never cooked it myself but anytime I've seen it done on tv it's been deep-fried. But there are bound to be other ways. Siz's suggestions are good.

Sorry, simonn, whitebait are the devils pubic hairs as far as I'm concerned, and I can't stand the flippin' sight of them, never mind eat them.

If I can find a recipe then I'll post one.
