Hi Folks!!

First post -

I have to rant and tell someone - problem is - I HAVE TO TELL PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND!!

THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN -

Problem is don't go out much, no problem there, but when I do go out I need Real Food. Last Sunday youngest Daughter is 5 - wants to go to pub where little friend had party - no problem, Mum & Dad get a meal and the kids PLAY -

Ho No - kids play yes - the meal - well - Mmmmm - child 1 has chicken wraps for children - chicken is hard and burnt, wraps and same, supplied salad Died 3 years ago. Birthday girl has Burger and chips. can't get that wrong - yes!! burger bap is burnt and stale on outside, burger resembles cremated carpet. wife has Salmon with Leamon sauce, looks like - not describable on internet. I have Mixed Grill, which is passable. Meal take 1 Hour 10 mins to be served.

Friday 12 Oct -

Go to work with out food, very rare situation. Cafe across road from work is a Community cafe, they make real food, own baking, bread simple meals.

Order 3 bean salad wrap and mixed side salad. cost just over £2.00. They deliver it to work, all made on premisis. All edible, good tasty simple food.

Well done to those out there who can lift a pan and cook - pub outlets - burn em down now!!

Thanks

AKA - real Food

Gosh but weren't you unlucky. I agree that some pub chains provide food that is less than "home cooked" but I personally have never had one that bad. Did you complain? These chains are usually very good if you do. Don't wait until you are finished, complain immediately, they all have an obligation to provide a product fit for purpose, ie: eating. Their reputation would plummet rapidly if they did not try their utmost to rectify the situation but you have to give them a chance to do so. Don't be put off by one pub or chain or even one pub of a chain, there are many good pub eateries out there and some reasonable chains. Don't give up on them, the social eating experience for children is a valuable part of a child's education in life.

Avoid pub chains if you want real food. Most of them use meals made in factories which arrive in a wagon and are simply reheated.

That's why some can't do a pudding without the custard as it's a frozen meal ready for the microwave.

Find a local real food pub - I suggest you buy a copy of the Good Pub Guide which will give you ideas.

Hi,

Thanks to both of you!!

I agree that the Children benefit from going out and the social issues of eating together and out.
I will buy a good food guide as well. I have a task of sending an complaint into the Head office of the company with the receipt & a graphic description of the meal -

Trouble is I don't really want to accept their hospitality again.

Thanks

Hi

I had a very simular experience, my daughter wanted a Brusters meal for her birthday party with 9 other school friends no problem I thought, oh so very badly mistaken.

4 kids started to eat their meal, and complained chicken nuggarts not cooked, burgers under cooked, my steak was so rare it was still running around the field, wife pie, was still chilled in the centre.

I complained to the chef only to be told, well if you dont like it don't eat it, that was that, until I started to complan to the newly appointed manager, all meals on the house, nothing to pay at all.

I keep to our local, play barn who can cook go quality fresh food.
