I didn't eat any myself but the sight of a man skinning a dog in preparation for his dinner did turn my head when I was backpacking in Vietnam.

I went to a restaurant in Nairobi called Canivore and had giraffe which was suprisingly rather nice. A bit like pork. Didn't try the Zebra but the Antelope was nice.

Strangest thing I have eaten is raw sea urchin on the Golden Bay beach in Malta.
The only image I could conjure up in likeness is salty snot

That's a coincidence, 'cos my snot actually has a hint of the marine about it.

AA Gill had a good piece in the Times yesterday. He was asked what the worst food he has eaten and he said nothing is as bad as what you get after 11pm down the High Street or cheap ready meals and he has eaten lots of wierd things.

My personal is Durian fruit, but unlike most I actually liked it!

Mmm... Durian! The King of fruits! Most interesting thing about them is how their texture and taste can vary from different batches/tree.

"Adventurous food" is a bit subjective though, while eating a dog might seem disgusting to use, in other parts of the world it'd be the norm.

I'm more than happy to try most food once. Have tried food such as cow's brain, crocodile, Century egg (Eggs that's supposedly been soaked in horse's urine, but that's merely a myth of sorts), snake, bear, tortoise, bird's nest (bird spit) and a nice Kangaroo kebab Razz

So, did they all taste like chicken Vash??

Weirdest foods I've tried:

Lambs' tongues in a Lebanese restaurant (deceptively described as Lamb Pieces on the menu Roll Eyes). Tasted like liver-flavoured rubber. Nice.

Chickens' claws in a dim sum place. Hideous, hideous, hideous.

I'm not very adventurous gastronomically. But I have eaten squirrel casserole. Rather a high bone to meat ratio though. Once found a recipe for rum punch that contained melted butter. I thought it had to be nicer than it sounded, but it really wasn't. Sick

Can't say I'm a fan of chicken claws, but a fairly common dish for chinese people. Another one would be beef tripe. Interestingly they always serve them really white when steamed as dim sum. Friend of mine guesses they bleach it before preparing them Disappointed

As for tasting like chicken. Crocodile meat is actually white. It even looks and feels like chicken texture wise. Funny thing though...tastes like fish Razz So a very accurate description of Crocodile meat would be fish flavoured chicken Cool
