Uuuugh! I used to work with someone who always chewed with their mouth open, made my guts churn. The worst for me is people talking with their mouths full, I always try and put my hands over my plate, don't want their spatters Mad

URRRGHHH!!!!!! I couldn't agree more!

I can't STAND noisy eaters, or ones that eat with their mouth open, or have a human horse-race to be the first to the finish.

I like to take me time over my food, and I was brought up to have table manners..

Makes me SICK when you get some devil that chomps away, smacking their lips and acting like a human tumble dryer.

Call me snobbish if you like, but I have to agree with Scarlett - it's one of the most revolting things on the planet.

I agree with what's been said already, but for me one of the worst is someone chewing gum and making a noise with it. I don't like greedy people either the kind who you sometimes see at a chinese/indian buffet they load their plate up with all kinds of food when there's no need as you can go back for more anyway. Maybe as I'm getting older I'm getting less tolerant. Red Face

Yeah I know what you mean, Magsy. Quality not quantity!

My ex once ate a 32oz steak just to prove that he could. The same pub (which was a lovely country pub near Cheltenham where we were living) also did a 64oz steak, that you had to order 48 hours in advance, and book a table, because it took 2 hours to cook. It was lovely beef, locally produced, but WHY??? What's the point in stuffing yourself to bursting?

I'd much rather have a 4-5 course meal with small portions of really nice food, than a massive plate of something that puts me off just because of the sheer size of it.

Hehe, glad to see I got such a good response.

It really does irritate me though and I usually end up staring at the person eating and giving them a filthy look.

Yes, liquifying all food. Fabulous idea, sorry about my spelling. Lol

Where I used to work I had a chap sitting opposite me who sat at his desk eating all day, fruit, biscuits, sarnies, you name it and he scoffed it. The trouble was that he had a huge beard and half his food ended up in it. Really used to turn my stomach!

I never actually saw the 64oz jobbie, but the landlord told us that it was about 3 inches thick and needed a plate all of it's own - doesn't bear thinking about - nor does the size of the cow... I think we're talking Aberdeen Angus here... Eek

Green Fairy - beards and food just DO NOT MIX!!! Effing gross... (BTW were you someone beginning with the S letter before?)

Well spotted, mrs_o! I'm still using your minestrone recipe, and the veggie chilli one, too. Yummy!
