Yes, Clive was great. Just a shame that the other guests didn't have much about them (don't get me started on Claudette). With a different bunch of people he would have had a blast, I'm sure.

I can understand why it's been reduced to a one hour show, but I preferred it before when it was 5 people and over 5 days - you got to see more of the guests - or is it that there just isn't the film footage to make it interesting any more?

I think the right person won. He put so much more into it. They were an odd mix weren't they. Thought Claudette was very rude going to sleep like that, it really was the height of bad manners. Still very unsure of the new format. The new titles are very slick, very a la Hell's Kitchen, thank goodness they kept the same guy to do the voice over, much prefered the 5 people over 5 days format like Queenstomper. I feel you don't see much of anything, not much interaction between the guests and not much of the going round the home also not much of the shopping and actual cooking. I understand that the programme used to devote 30 mins or so to each contestant and that would make a 150 mins in total so it has been cut down for the prime time slot but it really has lost something of it's oomph by doing this, could it not be done over 2 nights viewing to give it back more substance? I for one would watch it for an hour for the introduction and 2 guests followed the next day by the remaining 3 and the conclusion. Thursday and Friday night would suit me, there is little enough entertainment on on a Friday at the moment so it would be a welcome introduction to the weekend.

Having watched again last night I really do feel it's better to have 5 half hour programmes and go back to 5 diners. You might have a shorter 'run' on programmes but it's the quality that counts and this new format is far too 'bitty' for me - you just don't see enough of any one thing, it has to jump about to fit it into a one hour slot and for me, sorry but it doesn't work so well.

Yes I agree with you two, much better over 5 nights. If Dave Lamb didn't do the voice over, I wouldn't watch ~ he's great , so witty, he really makes the programme for me !

I preferred the old format, with the programmes spread out over five days, too. I liked to see the contestants having a nose around the host's house, too.
