When I first say it advertised I thought I might like to see it, but I wasn't sure and I had been disappointed on a number times watching historical programmes.
I decided to start to watch it and found it absolutely enthralling - couldn't pull myself away.
It brought to life a period and area that I had heard and read about, but never really understood. I suddenly wanted to learn more and get things in perspective.
Who else has watched this programme and been enthralled as I was, or have you other views?
Sorry Tina - I turned on but it's not really one of the periods I am most interested in. I found it dry and ungripping and kept surfing to other channels!
I taped it, but haven't watched it yet. But it looked interesting. It isn't usually my kind of era, I'm more interested in Medieval period, not so much ancient history. But I taped it anyway.
My cellmates are killers, they make me do push-ups in drag...
