correcting,eh ......I wont bother with the industrial revolution bunkum...or the fact you seem to be confused about British or English...but
The study, by Siew-Ean Khoo and David Lucas from the Australian Centre for Population Research of the Australian National University, examines the ancestries of the Australian population. A person's ancestry was determined by asking what ancestry they most closely identified with.
The proportion of people who identified themselves as having an English ancestry declined by 8% between 2001 and 1986, from 42% to 34%. In the same period, the proportion of people reported having an Irish ancestry increased by 4%, from 6% in 1986 to 10% in 2001.
i got the stat's from your official government website. and i know there was a drop after 1986 but that's not my point, because i was highlighting the fact that most in the great war were uk born. there was a great influx that signed up with the AEF (australian expeditionary force) that had emigrated to oz between 1910 - 1914 just to come back again to fight for the motherland for example.
on your other point i have differentiated english from british where appropriate
Think about new Lanark created by David dale and still operation as late as 1968

If you're an Aussie then you can go shove it, coz you all have this inferiority complex as you try to deflect, diminish and take away all things English.
Using the words coz and shove it in a debate do nothing more than make you appear foolish. Linking to a site entitled:The Origins of the Industrial Revolution in England is rather pointless too, when you are disscussing the U.K.You also seem a bit paranoid about your national identity (with an irrational 'fear'of Australians and probably the French too ) . Quote:'If you're an Aussie',moi?....hilarious. Go figure.

You claim to stand up for the English, but cannot even be bothered to attempt to write in the language properly(Im not but at least I make an effort) . Its a big world out here with many nations contributing to Britains industrial heritage, read about it sometime.....
'Aided by revolutions in agriculture, transportation, communications and technology, England was able to become the "first industrial nation." This is a fact that historians have long recognized.'
I know an old man and his grandfather used to say "This country may only be small but their sure is some brains in it."
thanks for that, I live about eight miles from it!
the important thing was that Dale moved to new lanark because he could not get support for his ideas in England.

Something seems to be troubling you. Did you have an unfortunate experience with a Australian? Or maybe you are trying to hide your Australian origins?
Do tell us what is troubling you? You are among friends and we will not laugh at you. Honest!!!!!!!!
Forgot to ask. What branch of the BNP are you a member of?

Which historians recognised an English industrialised nation then?

Looks like a very interesting place Morse, judging by their site.
It is interesting, the factory is still there as is the original houses, although they have become a bit up market, not what dale would have wanted. and there is also the Falls of clyde near by, which when they are in full flow is a wonderful sight.

well England the great wow you have a huge infiority complex i am sure of it well that is what my frind thiinks, I am posting this now i have read some and scanned most of the litriture that you have posted but have questions. (the reason for not reading the lecture fully but scanninng it is beacause i have come out of my own lecture and have a certain copacity.
Q1) who wrote the lecture? Q2) who are the sources, it seems littered with Quotes and writers names but their standing are they credited or discredited, in their theories?
moving on trust there will be more questions when i program my brain, after the union of the Kingdoms, it is incorrect to reffer to the the achievments as English if they incorperate a movment. as the Industrial revolution spanned the three Kingdoms (wales is a principality). English can only be used in the context of a single person, it is also derogatary to those who fought in WWI and WWII and were not English as you say, the expeditionary force did inculde other nationalites form the Kingdom.
Q3)(Morse is right) what wing of the BNP or shall it be ENP are you from?
I found this on the actual website and it appears that it comes from America rather than britian(England)

For a more balanced view of other nations contributions to Britain in this era. Link to a sample of major Scots innovators. A global giant among Welsh industrialists Link. The industrial revolution appears to be a combined effort of Wales,Scotland,Ireland and England....apologies to Irish readers as I know little from an Irish perspective, but am willing to read more.
