just reading up on John Churchill and the Earl of Feversham in James II's reign. Feversham was appointed Lord of the bed chamber whilst Churchill was gentleman of the bed chamber, (i think).
As the two were rivals for military command and court position I was just wondering what the two jobs entailed and whether one held more power and respect than the other?
