THIS PICKS UP WHERE ONE LEFT OFF.We re- turn to the "Bull". "...and to apply and appro-
priate to himself and his successors the king- doms, dukedoms, counties, principalities, do- minions, possessions, and goods, and to convert
them to his and their use nd profit". Clearly, we can learn that by these series of Papal Bulls
also referred to as "grants" and/or "letters" by
the Papcy; that the foresaid mentioon Kings, were not the "Authors" of the planned enslave-
ment and/or genocide of African people; only the
"INSTRUMENTS" to carry out said plan. This is
unequivocal evidence of a direct link [Pope Mar-
tin V., to King John I; Pope Eugenius IV to King
Edward; and, Pope Nicholas V., to King Alfonso and [his] successors and the infante (Prince Henry, the so-called "Navigator")] to the en-
slavement of African people time continuim. I could say, I believe...the latter, shows that The Catholic Church, i.e., The Popes, were aware
that they were not dealing with a little people.
They were not dealing with a people without ani-
cent culture(s) and/or anicent religions (many
much older than The Catholic Church, itself). Not a people without its own government(s), a people not without a great deal of goods, i.e., gold, clothes, ivory, pepper, gum, ostrich feat-
hers, and other materials; a people not without
movable and immovable goods. These were not the
people as portrayed in a Hollywood, Tarzan mov-
ie. As I stated earlier, "I could say, I belie-
ve"; however, what I am saying is that I KNOW,
not believe, what The Catholic Church, knew what it was stating in its "BullS", "Grants", and/or "Letters". The above document is evident that the papcy was not only aware of the taking of Saracens and other "negroes" (all African people) for perpetual enslavement, but they (The Catholic Church),i.e., represented by The
Holy Sea, had the Universal Power to authorize
the taking of African people, but that this Univeral Power, went back more than twenty-five years; and, as far back as Saint Peter, and be-
yond to Jesus Christ, himself.
Remember, Fr. Joel S. Panzer, is claiming in his book, "The Popes and Slavery", that the popes condemned "racial" slavery; 57 years be-fore Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. We will see that this is contradicted by this and other documents of the Catholic Church, itself. The Catholic Church was stated under "Respect for the goods of others --
2414 "The seventh commandment forbids acts or enterprises that for any reason - selfish or ideological, commercial, or totalitarian - lead to the en-slavement of human beings, to their being bought, sold and exchanged like merchandies, in disregard for their personal dignity. It is a sin against the dignity of persons and their fundamental rights to reduce them by violence to their productive value or to a source of profit. St. Paul directed a Christian master to treat his Christian slave "no longer as a slave but more than a slave, as a beloved brother,... both in the flesh and in the Lord."294".Notice,
that St. Paul was directing a "Christian master" about the treatment of a "Christian slave". You will see this concern for the treat-
ment of "Christian" being made slaves later in the Bull Sicut dudum, issued in 1435.
As we continue, we find that actions taken by King Alfonso, or, by his authority, the afore-said infante; were just and lawfull according to the "Universal Church". "...to convert them to his and their use and profit--by having secured the said faculty, the said King Alfonso, or, by his authority, the aforesaid infante, justly and lawfully has acquired and possessed, and doth possess, these islands, lands, harbors, and seas, and they do of right belong and pertain to the said King Alfonso and his successors, nor without special license from King Alfonso and his successors themsel- vers has any other even by the faithful of Christ been entitled hitherto, nor is he by any means now entitled lawfully to meddle therewith--in order that King Alfonso himself and his suc-cessors and the infante, may be able the more zealously to pursue and may pursue his most pious and noble work, and most worthy of perpet-
ual remembrance (which, since the salvation of souls, increase of the faith, and overthrow of its enemies may be procured thereby, we regard as a work wherein the glory of God, and faith in Him, and His commonwealth, the Univeral Church, are con-
cerned) in proportion as they, having been relieved of all the greater obstacles, shall find themselves supported by us and by the Apostolic See with favors and graces--we, being very fully informed of all and singular the premises, do, motu proprio, not at the instance of King Alfonso or the infante, or on the petition of any other offered to us on their behalf in respect to this matter, and after mature deliberation, by apostolic authority, and from certain knowledge, in the fullness of apostolic power, by the tenor of these presents decree and declare that the aforesaid letters of faculty (the tenor whereof we wish to be considered as inserted word for word in these presents, with all and singular the clauses therein contained) are extended to Ceuta and to the aforesaid and all other acquisitions whatsoever, even those acquired before the date of the said letters of faculty, and to all those provinces, islands, harbors, and seas whatsoever, which hereafter, in the name of the said King Al-
fonso and of his successors and of the infante, in those parts and the adjoining, and in the more distant and remote parts, can be acquired from the hands of infidels or pagans, and that they are comprehended under the said letters of faculty."
