Towards the end of the prog, it was stated that a great deal of the Polar ice cap was melting. This would make the NW passage much easier to use to reach Asia. What it failed to point out was that much of Asia will become underwater due to the melting and that there could be much less of interest to visit!
Anyone else any comment?

But maybe Baffin Island will become the new Ayanapa?

I would've thought the value of the NW Passage as a trade route would've been made redundant once the Panama Canal opened but stand to be corrected.

I thought it an excellent programme, especially the first part about the Franklin expedition.
