Hi Lurker, I use to pick up a copy from my local newsagent, until he told me they ceased publication. After yr mentioning it I check and learnt I was misinformed.
Current World Archaeolgy seems to be exactly what I'm looking for!
I'm reading for an Ancient History degree at Birmingham at the moment, and this will compliment my reading perfectly!
snap but im doing it with archaeology and in my second year.
for good magazines its best to try and subscrbe to a journal online. There are plenty out there and youll have more luck
If you are at a UK academic establishment, your library should subscribe to many, many online journals. If you are familiar with the "Athens" system, then the whole world of interweb wonders such as JSTOR become available to you. If you are not familiar with the "Athens" system, may I suggest you get familiar with it double quick, as it is the most usefull tool you will ever use!
Yup constantly accessing them as its actually easier to find journal articles! Most of the journals I access are archaeology ones and osteo archaeology ones, theres the journal for near eastern studies but I dont have much luck with it. EES (Egyptian Exploration Society) has a special student rate of £20 for a year subscription, problem being, you only get very few printed issues during the year.
