Is this competition about finding the best unsigned act or is it about the judges preference of music.....? It seems a little evident from todays show that it's the latter.

Did you notice how they seemed concerned with whether a band had the "right look"? Because looks are really important when it comes to music downloads and radio airplay...

And 36 is apparently "too old" to do well in the music biz. Fickle, much?

I watched that, yes the judges did seemed very concerned about looks, even though they all fell out of the ugly tree themselves and hit every branch on the way down!
People like jo whiley are famous for talking about music, dont think shes ever managed a band or produced anything herself, her input was of no value at all
but to be honest I didn't see anything on there I liked musically, there was no dance music or hip-hip everyone just seemed to stick to the generic 4/5 piece guitar approach
