I live in Raunds. Our hot dinners are bused from one school to the next. There are four schools in Raunds. Park infants, St Peter's Junior, Manor school and sports college and Windmill Junior school. St Peters only started serving hot dinners three years ago, they have no kitchen to cook them in. Manor school bus the hot dinners to not only us but to Park infants, Windmill, Rindstead School and Stanick School. While they are not only preparing these school dinners but hot meals and bagettes for it's own school and staff.

I also work as a Lunch time supervisior in St Peter's and I am appalled at the amount of food that gets thrown away. With the pupils saying they didn't know that it was that for lunch. Our numbers fluctuate for hot meals between 60 and 78. There is also alot of children throwing away what is in there lunch boxes. In some cases the crap that is in there lunch boxes should also be banned. Nothing beats a homemade cake or home made bread(something I cannot do).

I have four fussy kids, and everyone of them have different tastes. All of them LOVE homemade cake(not to mention licking the bowl afterwards). My cakes never see the week out. Two of my children have excema so I have to leave out chicken nuggets, fish fingers and chicken burgers. I have had to make up all new meals using wholesome ingredients. My daugter had excema so bad that I was at a loose end. Seeing hospitals, wet bandaging, medication to help her sleep. NOTHING worked until I changed the food I brought in. I would only get in chicken nuggets, fish fingers and chicken burgers as a junk food night. We eat vegatables everynight and proper meat from a butchers.

So as parent, i only cook proper meals. Fresh fish from the fish van and proper meat from a butchers. Vegetable picked from my garden of from the farm shop. But as parents we have our childrens future in our hands, I don't want my kids growing up looking more like Mr and Mrs Blobby.

You can still eat junk food in moderation, you still can eat chocolate and cheese strings, NOT EVERY MEAL ther are not good for you.

So THANK YOU JAMIE for the effort in turning the nation of junk food addicts, from A parent and a lunch time supervisior. (You and Jules will recieve a warm welcome in our house, and love the meals.)
