My children go to Brooklands Primary School and the new Jamie Oliver menus were wonderful and much better than the frozen muck previously served. However, recently the budgets have obviously been cut as the school no longer has fresh fruit and veg deliveries and the salad offering is limp and unappetising. Come on Jamie and help us tackle Greenwich Council who are trying in introduce multi pack frozen veg that goes mushy and huge amounts of baked beans into all the recipes. The school says that they see a wonderful menu only for second rate ingredients to be delivered to the school that bear no resemblance to the meals on the sheet. My daughter is now taking packed lunch along with an unprecedented number of children at our school. Even members of staff say that the food is awful. I want my children to have the same good healthy meals at school as they enjoy in our home, and I don't mind paying slightly more for them. The children at Brooklands are in the main used to good food. It is all so depressing.
