Im glad you have enjoyed the programme jamie it has done wonders for my job ,no not really i might be losing the job i love doing as the catering service i work for is lickely to close as through the new dinners which may i add are a weird combination has left them in debt,the school kitchen i work for has always done heathly lunches .We might be taken over by a private company which means lower wages ,so not all kitchen assistants (which is what we are called not dinner ladies )appriciate your programme]

That's about mismanagement of the canteen facility within your school and not the personal fault of Jamie Oliver.

You cannot knock the lad for caring about our children's futures or about their health. Unfortunately the blame for unhealthy eating habits lies firmly at the door of the parents, it is they whom the children learn from long before they go to school and learn from "Peer pressure" influences. I am not saying all parents are the same but the climate now for parents to both have to work and achieve in all areas and for everything to be done fast, like yesterday, has left little time for parents to educate their children, to eat as a family or to spend the time preparing good food from scratch. Ready meals may be "balanced" but they are also, due to their nature, full of other things that home prepared food would not contain, manufactured preservatives etc. Perhaps the campaign isn't working but when you ask yourself why, look at who it is that is coming to the school gates and bringing the burgers and chips to their kids.

this is down to bad management are school manages to do very healthy meals but added 15p to the cost we as parents are happy to pay as we know are children are getting good food well done jamie keep it up
