Is it just me, or is Jamie piling on the pounds? If this is the case, he is not really setting a good example to kids. I am not saying that he has to be wafer thin, but I definitely observe he is sliding towards obesity......
I just think that is damn rude, how would you like it people started making personal comments about you. There could be medical reasons or anything i dont really think he is what you call obese is he, and as for setting an example somebody who grows and cooks there own food is the best example. Most people only know how to open a tin.
Jamies' thickening waist are simply, in my opinion to do with approaching middle age..Jamie happens to be exactly the same age as myself & I do not find it so easy to lose weight now as I did several years ago..my figure seems to have a mind of it's own these days & altho I'm a long way from being fat I would say I have thickened, or filled out all over. 3 years ago I was a size 10-12 I am now a size 12-14 with no obvious change to my diet or daily regime..so have a heart..lol

I was just repeating what I'd read in an interview with Jamie. He said he hates watching the Naked Chef shows from years ago as he doesn't associate what he sees then with what he sees now 'baggy eyes and a thickening waist'. His words not mine. I didn't criticise him either, just supplied some info for the original poster.
Dont think any ones talking bout you it is about the original post, and it is rude to comment on someones weight or size especially when you dont know them !!!!!!!
It seems a bit hypocritical to me. Jamie champions eating healthily, school dinners etc. If he is piling on the pounds, then his diet and lifestyle are at fault.
Middle age spread is a myth. The right diet, exercise and lifestyle, which Jamie a as role model, should be practicing, controls your weight.

Sorry what makes you such an expert, i have studded nutrition at college and read every food book going, every one is an individual and all our bodies work differently ! Even the most minor thing can affect how we burn fat, so unless you know all the facts its not always as simple as diet versus right amount of exercise. I just think your being harsh !
Stubbins, "middle-age spread" is definitely no myth..in women it begins when they become pre-menopausal if it isn't due to over eating or bad diet..it is a fact our bodies all naturally change weight and shape as we age.. but the change in shape or weight need not necessarily be unhealthy.

So he's an incredibly busy man and doesn't get the opportunity to go for the occasional jog. Eating good quality food has nothing to do with burning off the calories. Great food, great taste, you got to die of something; bit ironic we sit in front of TV watching cooking programmes.

I agree. How many TV chefs are there who are slim, anyway? I can only think of Jean Christophe Novelli. All the others are well-covered and Jamie's going the same way.
4 months on, and Jamie is still piling on the weight. I estimate he is at least 3 stone overweight. How can a blob lecture on healthy eating? Must be that he is assimilating physically with the majority of the population, who are overweight. Sorry, just can't take the guy seriously. He is just chasing the money.
I watched Jamie on his 'Jamie at Home' show last night and I thought he looked an absolute picture of good health! All you lot talking about him putting on weight should be taken out and shot!! His show is brilliant as well; all the good old down to earth stuff- literally! I loved it and Jamie looked alright to me
