Pfffft, the Greek Gods are so much better than the whiny ones nowadays.

Plus, they had a lot less contradictions.

I mean, I liked how they were in them days.

Some drunken kickass God got some woman pregnant... SO HE ATE HER. Y'know whats cooler than walking on water, EATING YOUR PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND.

And it didn't stop there, the girlfriends child then bust out the God's head, killing him. So much cooler than anything anyone else has done since.

Interesting question....although i don't particularly like religions in general....being told what to do by a big book 'written' by people thousands of years ago....

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Love unspoken, Faith unbroken, All life through, Strings are playing, Hear them saying, 'I Love You', Now the echo answers, 'Say you'll want me too', All the world's in love with love, And I Love You.

"So I rang up my local swimming baths. I said 'Is that the local swimming baths?' He said 'It depends where you're calling from.'"

I usually ignore a lot of it, but it gets annoyed when some religions think it's thier mission to convert me.

A fact for you all:

Caligula's sister (also his wife) became pregnant. Then a soothsayer told him that their child would exceed him in prowess. So he did some of his own 'thinking' and thereafter promptly murdered his sister and actually ATE the foetus as directed by the 'seer' (who could see 'everything').

From what I remember this arose mainly because he believed himself to be a god and thus decided to copy the Roman equivalent of the story you refered to A_R.

Isn't religion such a good influence? Big Grin

I don't think any religion is exactly famous for being in the realms of possibility LOG.

Paganism is pretty cool - as in the British version, not US witchcraft 'sisterhood' cults which are highly suspect. I like the simple ideas in British paganism - first principals, worshipping nature etc, If I weren't such an old cynic that would be my religion of choice.

Or the whole human race coming from two people.

The majority of any religion's stories are fantastical.

And how did 6 people clear all that animal dung every day? That's one serious flaw right there...
