SEPTIÈME ÉTAGE (Seventh floor)

Natalie Holt
28 years old, single mother of her daughter Amélie. Dyed-brown short hair, slim and relatively tall. Friends with both Haydn and Julia. She lives in Nº4 on floor seven of the apartment block.

Nino Quincampoix
34 years old, widower who's wife died many years ago. Father of 18 y/o twins, Théo and Clair who have left home for university. Friends with Natalie and the ex-fiancé of Julia although they maintain a good, mutual friendship. Slim man with short blond hair and brown eyes.

Julia De Néro
30 years old, wife of Haydn Argent. A column writer for Le Monde french newspaper who must to meet occasional deadlines. Shares a close friendship with Nino and Natalie although envious of Haydn's bond with his dying mother. Slim, pretty woman with long tied-back blonde hair and green eyes.

SETTING
A Parisian, high rise apartment block. Seventh floor. dark red-wine coloured walls with crème carpets and dark wooden doors for each apartment. An elevator at the foot of the floor and stairs at the opposite end with spotlighted lighting and various décor pieces on the walls.

The lobby of the apartment on the ground floor also plays a major roll within the script. This is where residents can leave certain belongings, dine, drink or relax. Also open to non-residents. Very rich and expensive. Often a singer accompanying the atmosphere in the corner of the room.

I'll post it scene by scene and name each episode etc. I think there'll be about ten episodes per season maximum but that's subject to change more or less.

lol no it's only a script that I'm writing because I like to do roleplays and I'm posting it on here so that other people can read it.

the promo thing seems over the top but that's what was regular procedure in the old forum I used to use.

lol, it said channel 4, so i assumed it was a tv show so i was thinking, i'm not gonna understand a word (cos i dropped french 2 years ago)...but the promo is just a pic, what's all that about???

PILOT


EXT. OVERVIEW OF UPPER CLASS SUBURBS - DAY TIME
[V.O] NATALIE
The suburbs; a place of childhood memories, new families and a sign of living in unison as a community. This is true in most cases, but not particularly in my case.

The overview of the suburbs is slowly zoomed and focused on one house, looking particulary prim and wealthy. Day turns to night.

INT. NATALIE'S HALLWAY - NIGHT TIME
Natalie runs for the door, her hands covered in blood. Frantically trying the lock before giving up hope and sliding down the door to the ground; blood spreading onto the door from her hand. Footsteps are heard, she jumps up - re-enthused and full of will power. she runs to into the living area and sees a child looking worryingly back at her. She hesitates before running to the window, flicking her long blonde hair and opening it as wide as possible and gripping the child before making a swift escape.

MAN shouting desperately
Don't you're going to get away from me! I'll get you!

CREDITS

2 YEARS LATER

INT. NATALIE'S APARTMENT - DAY TIME
There is a frantic knock on the door.

NATALIE
Coming!

Natalie paces towards the door, tying her short, brown hair back and looking confidently into the mirror stapled onto the back of the door before unlocking the door and pulling it open.

NATALIE
Jesus, this door! I'll have to get it fixed, it's so stiff.

JULIE disregarding any previous conversation
Oh no, you forgot didn't you?

NATALIE
um.. I suppose, what did I forget?

JULIE
Edith's anniversary.

NATALIE rolling her eyes
Urgh, come in.

CUT TO: INT. NINO'S LIVING AREA - DAY TIME

Nino stands staring into the mirror, patting his short blond hair and tying his tie securely. He makes his way into the living area and takes a framed photograph from the glass shelving, he stares longingly at the image before smacking it down on the glass as the phone rings.

NINO
Hello

AURELIE
Hey Nino, could you come in today to cover Caroline's shift?

NINO
Agh, sorry I can't. It's my wife's anniversary.

AURELIE
Oh.. I see. How many years?

NINO
Ten years today. Tell her I'm sorry and any other day -

AURELIE
Don't worry, she'll be fine. I'll see you tomorrow?

NINO
Sure, see you tomorrow.

Nino puts down the phone and returns to the image, staring again and smiling softly.

NINO
I wish you were here to see the twin's they've grown so much...
