I played professional football in Aston Villa ladies team for 3 years before an injury made me give up. I know a lot of footballers. I hang out with the Villa team a lot, have dated one of them (not any longer) and once went out with Alan Shearers cousin...
I know the game. I know a talented player when I see one...Beckham has NEVER been talented. He has a powerful kick. He has no on the ball skills and no pace. All he can do is hoof the ball up the pitch and hope that the strikers run on to it. Sometimes he's lucky, other times hes not.
I just dont understand this Beckham worship when he is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard! There are so many more talented players out there that recieve no recognition. Hes not even good looking...and dont even get me started on the wife...
The best thing about this world cup? Its Beckhams last. Cant wait until hes retired, then he can dissappear...

No offence, but for someone who "knows the game", you look quite the contrary.
Beckham may be past his best by a long way, but to make statements that he has never been talented is folly.
He is still the best crosser of the ball and free kick taker in the world, bar NONE. That is skill, and it also brings a HELL of a lot to a match.

Yes i completely agree, he may not be at his best, but he is not completely useless.

i dodnt think lampard has been that good at all. beckham has been has average. out of that list id say its between gerrard and cole. overall id say gerrard and both of the coles
I think Gerrard. He is a quality player. It used to be Beckham, but he isn't so good anymore. Lampard is terrible and Cole I haven't seen enough of yet.Owen used to be good too, but his injuries keep him away too long.

Erm, you missed our best player out (Rooney) - which is a disgrace - he is outstanding, whatever you think of him.
Beckham is passed his best now, but he was a great player in his prime - there's no denying - fabulous passing range and set-pieces. Nowadays though he isn't fit enough to play in 30+ degrees without throwing up, and is just way to slow simply put.
Joe Cole I'd say is a tad inconsistent, but at his best he is one heck of a player.
Gerrard is superb, and twice the player Lampard is. Lampard is vastly overrated and his ability to score goals (not at the moment even), makes him appear a much more talented player than he unfortunately is. Neither should play for England together - should be Gerrard, being a far superior player.

Best player? well...-in my view..our best player is not on that list so i have to vote Others...I think that Crouch done really really well and Lennon was amazing...it was shame he was not in the first line up on a few games...also i feel that Theo is a great player but never got given a chance...which i think isnt right...he should of been given a chance...to prove himself on that pitch.
IMO...i think most people pick these people due to popularity...i mean they are mentioned in the paper and that quite a bit unlike ones like Theo...so therefore hes not recognised as much as the others so therefore people be clueless about him....

Errr don't want to be mean, but you must be daft if you're going to consider those players better than Gerrard and Rooney.
Maybe they did well on Saturday (mind, Hargreaves was miles better than anyone else!), but you only need to watch Gerrard and Rooney for their clubs to see how immense they are. Lampard however, is vastly overrated.
