I am currently seeing a Senior counsellor at my local psychology department..We have just begun doing a therapy called Dyalectic behaviour therapy. It's an American treatment and is supposed to be very succesful... I certainly hope so anyway...
I'm serious babe... I've used everything, You're gonna think I'm a loon, and I promise I'm not, but I was sectioned for 48hrs last year for doing it.. I haven't since February 25th though... It's not a good thing to start..I hate the fact that my 12yr old has to see a shrink because I've screwed my life up and hers with it.. But this new therapy sounds promising...So fingers crossed. I'm actually relieved to get it out...Though, this isn't the best place to do it... Do you have msn??
krekk dunno if u agree but i dont think there is enough help out there, i found it sooo hard to get help and esp with people with experience/knowledge of self harm.

at the time, it helped. it really did. i'd use anything i could get my hands on. i don't do it any more tho
i know a girl who i suspect is self harming, but i don't really know how to talk to her about it
As someone who has been doing it for 22 years I would say, Just approach her as a friend and let her know that you are there if she needs to talk..She'll probably come to you..
