Right OK Ive been thinking today. Im in my last year of Year 11 so Im leaving soon. I was thinking of going to sixth form at my school to do Art, Media & Theology.
But then I heard Liverpool College does Film Studies and Im really into films, but Im just a bit wary. Does anyone have any tips? Im a bit scared.

Get hold of some university prospectuses and have a flick through. It might help you choose your A levels.

Does anybody know how you can get a GCSE in acting if you don't actually do it at school for GCSE? Do you need to go to stage school or something?

Well Ive decided if I go to 6th Form, I'd choose:

Art
Media Studies
Theology
IT (compulsary)

& if I went to college, I'd choose:

Art
Film Studies
Media Studies
English Lit & Lang.

hey! it really depends what you want to do with your life and whether the uni you want to go to will prefer the Liverpool college of the sixth form

and if you think about it- you want to go to the college where you will do best and get the best results, so if your friends are likely to make you feel more at home at whichever college you go to and therefore you will feel like working harder (maybe) go to the one they are at

that might not make any sense sorry

Lucky devil! Nottingham's meant to be gorgeous too.

Have you decided on your second choice? I don't know whether to be sensible and put down Edinburgh (BBB) or stupid and put down St. Andrews (AAB).

Same here. We have to do General Studies to AS but that's on top of our other subjects, not instead of one of them.

I'd go for the college option, by the sounds of it you would be happiest there. Plus if film is of interest to you then you should do it.

I stayed on at sixth form because it just seemed like the easier option for me. However i did wish i had gone to college as there would have been more on offer there and i could have actually done journalism as an A-level.

I am at uni now though doing what i want to do so it doesn't matter.

we have compulsory 'critical thinking' taught by the sh!ttest teacher in the school. i told her yesterday that i would learn better from a textbook than from ever attending her lessons so there was no point me actually going to them. plenty of critical thinking going on there Razz

We had no compulsory subjects at A-level. My cousin who was in another school sixth form at the same time as me had to do General Studies but we never did.

It was St. Andrew's and I did a couple of days ago. Trouble is that they're asking for AAB including an A in Latin which is probably a bit high for a second choice as it means that I have to get an A in Latin regardless.

Well done in getting in to all of them!! Is it law you want to do?
