ok, for our end of year exhibition (June of 2007), we have to raise around £8000. This is mostly done through fund raising.

Theres 35 of us and we're all second year furniture design students. Can anyone think of any good fund raising ideas, whether they're related to design or not? Cuz at the moment we're stuck on a bake sale that will raise all of about £50!

All ideas, however wacky, are appreciated!

prostitution IS a good idea, however i don't think it would go down well with the tutors...

apple bobbing... i did a stall of that for a charity thing, got loads...

I like the suggestion, but i'm at uni!!! so we don't wear uniform. That one always used to go down well at school tho.

and lost-obsesed-girly, u have no idea how much i would like to gunge the teachers!!!! my dad taught me at school so i got to do that to him when i was there. he wsn't impressed!

Dammit! How about something like... having fun lessons all day? With loads of practical stuff? Or no pens allowed where you cant do any writing

I say you have a auction.

Go around local shops asking for free stuff to auction off, in return they'll get advertising space at the auction and word of mouyth advertising etc etc.

Me and my friends did that and raised loads for Cafod. Our best auction was a free balloon ride

You could try writing to some large companies (maybe with some relevance to your exhibition) and asking them to sponsor the exhibition... you will probably get more money that way than sitting in baths of beans etc..

xena, we should be able to get one sponsor, but this is a show thats done every year, and it always comes down to the students raising the money!
