aka the football thread.

Thats right- all you morons who are unhappy about the world cup being over have got the new premiership season to look forward to and lots of great new arguments Big Grin

Anyone who says its just a game is wrong.

So who will win it this season? as much as I hate to admit it- Chelsea are looking very strong with the acquisition of Ballack and Shevchenko. However Arsenal will be much better this season and players like Fabregas and Van Persie will only get better.

message to Tottenham fans- if you think you can repeat the season you have just had, think on....

How will the new boys do? Reading have the best chance of staying up. Surely Sheffield United and Watford will go down?
Wigan and Villa will be competing for survival.

My team Fulham- probably selling Steed but it may not be a bad thing because we bought in the brilliant Jimmy Bullard. I myself am optimistic about the season coming up.

I am hoping for a liverpool win..

Chelsea are indeed looking strong again..But I certainly hope it is not a one horse race..It makes it more fun when 3 or 4 teams slug it out to the final match..

I believe Liverpool will not win it because Chelsea look so strong.
I believe it will be a two horse race between them and Arsenal.

I am still unconvinced about Liverpool's strikers and whether they have someone who can score 20+ goals a season in the premiership.

United, and I'm a united fan so it pains me to say this, won't win anything this year. We'll be losing a striker, a right-winger and still have found no replacement to Keano. We're screwed.

in my opinion I would rather have Saha than Nistelrooy. Nobody else thinks that but I just think he is a special player- great in the air, fast, scores with both feet and very strong. A great player.

Replacing Keano- you will never be able to do that but you really do need players better than the likes of Fletcher in the centre midfield area.

As good as Ronaldo is- he has little end product and you could sign a player who is more consistent. If Ronaldo wants to go to Real Madrid and not win anything- let him.

we're looking strong once more and although i was slightly doubtful about ballack and shevchenko to begin with after watching the world cup im feeling good

Are you Lampio?
yes Ballack looked good at the world cup. I haven't seen Ballack play to much before but Shevchenko I have seen play on numerous ocassions and will be a brilliant signing.
Your central midfield- Lampard, Makelele and Ballack- Thats scary!
