true your other posts about England losing and how you hope they fail have been a bit of a joke  Italy should do well but won't win it- I am thinking quarter finals/ semis. However they are in a tough group!! |

Back to an Irish and Scottish jealousy thing, Ireland aren't jealous. We've had some decent runs in the thing (unlike Scotland) but more importantly, we've had a hell of a laugh.
I, along with the dharma shark, am tired sick of having to listen to your media in the build up to the world cup. It's not so much the team or even some, and I emphasise some, of your supporters, it's your media that's the real pain in the a55.

oh yeah I hate the media- especially after the world cup where they slaughter the players when before they say how they are the 'official England paper' and how we must get behind the team and how great we are.
I am very optimistic myself when it comes to England and love it when it is close to a world cup finals.

Our media are more inclined to slate the manager rather than the players, e.g Berti Vogts. Poor guy

I agree Hac, our media hounds people, will go on about how great we are but if/when we get knocked out they will be horrible to players and managers etc. I wish they would be restrained and more quietly supportive....if that is possible. I do have to laugh when I hear Scots saying they are supporting Brazil because they play like Scotland. In which alternative reality is that?

Thats untrue. We are supporting Trinidad and Tobago up here in Scotland because they have a few players playing in the Scottish leagues.

the fact that you generally as a country are cheering on Trinidad and Tobago is pathetic. But to be fair its just jealousy- jealousy that you have a poor team that will only reach a major tournament once in every five England will beat tirnidad and tobago |

We can choose to support whoever we want to, and no we're not jealous of a country who love their players to bits one minute and are slaughtering them the next minute, you yourself said you hate the media for slaughtering your players after a bad result/performance and what have you just started doing in the various Wolrd Cup threads? Yes, thats right slaughtering your players even when you won your first game.

There is a difference in what we did after the Faroe Islands, we never won the game, your country did, and yet you still call them a disgrace? And being passionate doesnt give you an excuse to come on and call my country pathetic.

Yes but we are England- we have players like Cole, gerrard and Lampard not players like Dickov and McFadden.
I am unhappy at the lack of passion we showed- yes we won but we should have done a lot more.
It is exactly the same btw- Scotland are expected to slip up against teams like Faroe Islands. England however went into this match- knowing they were going to win- they were arragant and lacked passion and that is dangerous.
I did not call your country pathetic btw- I said the fact that you are cheering for T&T is pathetic

I havent bought a T&T shirt or anything, I do agree that buying all of their stuff is taking it too far and I am a little ashamed of the fact that we have our own Trinidad and Tobago song, because we always seem to go on about cheesy England WC songs. I just like to see all the smaller teams doing well, and T&T are the most obvious choice for a Scot, they are in Englands group, they have multiple Scottish based players, hell they even have a player called Jason Scotland! To be honest, I think we should agree to disagree on the subject. I think we should just agree to disagree on the subject.
