Well that is obvious which is a great shame for us. IMO we should keep playing Owen in the group stages because we are going through anyway- that will give him an extra 2 games to get his fitness back and hopefully find his form before the phase 2 starts. |

The thing that really struck me about your subs the other day was why did Erikkson not put on Walcott? Instead of making a straight switch he changed the formation. Why did he take Walcott to Germany if he isn't going to play him?

Exactly! I was so happy that he picked Walcott and thought he had finally grown some balls. I am afraid however Sven is likely to cost us BIG in this tournament with his poor tactics. |

I suppose it was bold move to take Walcott but if I was Jermaine Defoe I would be feeling as if someone had just kicked me where the sun dont shine.

Nah I'm happy with the result, as gutted as I am for the Poles. They can still qualify if Costa Rica and Ecuador draw, then Germany beat Ecuador and Poland beat Costa Rica. It means England can avoid Germany in the second round, and play an easier team. |

England vs Trinidad and Tobago today then Any predictions for the score and what about Rooney being played? I'm thinking a 2-0 victory to England, Beckham and Gerrard scoring. I reckon Rooney'll get 10-to-15 minutes at the end of the game, in place of Owen, depending on the score; 1-0 ahead and he won't, 2-0 and he will. Also, Sven making the tactical change, I feel, was the right decision. Owen was doing a terrible job of holding the ball, and by bringing on Downing England managed to play to their midfield strength. In such a situation where you are 1-0 ahead against a team you should, on paper, be slaughtering, nerves begin to rattle. Bringing on Walcott would have put a whole load of pressure on someone with no World Cup experience and he may have mentally collapsed with such inexperience. Walcott will play eventually, but it is going to have to be in a situation whereupon a win is already guaranteed. Or perhaps against Sweden in the final game if we are winning by a small margin (say 1 goal) because, should we have beaten T+T, we will have guaranteed our Second Round place. Morning everyone.... So last night...England V Sweden... in my honest opinion...thats been our best match out of the 3 games we played....we put a bit more effort...but we still did amazingly crap... ok the first half we had spirit...then we scored that goal...then our spirits went up...then what happened??? did Sven tell them that they were doing brilliantly? and got them too confident in half time? or did they have a quick cup of tea...joint and a quickie with the wife?? i mean seriously...our mood changed in the second half...and letting them score like that...unbeliavable...we seemed to slack! They did a right thing in bringing Gerrard on! Not so sure about Campbell...i reckon they should have brought on Theo! he could of done a lot for us... and omg! Rooney! hahahahaha...im sorry but i dont like the bloke and i have said a couple of times that if he scores il give him the credit he deserves...but noooooo...when he got switched...he just had to have that tantrum..i mean...get back in your pram for crying out loud!!!!! and last but not least...Owen..  im gutted....within the first minute he was down and out... that looked soooo painful....my heart goes to him...i like Owen...hes out for least 6 months...and thats with good pysio...hes only just got over an injury...i know he hasnt scored recently...but he is one of our best players and we need him...and he gives it his all....
