Why not go the whole hog and have a "Derren Night", better still change Channel 4's name completely to "Derren-O-Vision" After all if Living TV can put that daft mare Yvette Fielding up chasing about the place looking for ghosties and wetting herself, why can we have the dapper and intelligent Mr B. scrambling our brains for an evening. dont sell your tickets! are you mad! you should know by now that Derren doesnt give away most of his techniques. if he told us how to use the photographic memory technique we will all be using it! to me that wouldnt be fair as that would be cheating

The 23/5/ show. I never doubt Derren so I am going to assume there was nothing fake about it.
So was it me or was I the only one totally gobsmacked by last night's show?
How on earth? is the question I asked about every sequence in that show. The girl was an absolutely a wonderful sport taking part and deserves some sort of tv thingy award.
Just a point of curiosity, but was that another girl in her bed during the 'rise and shine' sequence ? I only arsked no reason.

Totally agree, Can we have an hour please Mr / Mrs / Ms / Miss Channel 4. I need my Derren-fix at least once a week. The latest trick or treat episode where that woman had to free herself out of the bag under water, I felt, was fixed.
The camera didn't show her coming out of the bag and it ended all too quick. I'm starting to dought the shows legitimantse.

Well i suppose anything is possible,but I would like to think DB is a credible act. To give him the benefit of the doubt I would say that the show is too short and they havent the time to show everything that happens, but perhaps somebody from the show should comment? |

There must have been more than one fixed static camera by the water. We never saw any footage from the one UNDER the water only the one place by the jetty. Also has anyone tried googling "Black Heart Lake" Maybe it is a local name but it does not appear anywhere on the names of lakes in the U.K So where is it and what is it's real name ? |

Hi There, What did you think was the high light of Derren's An Evening of Wonders show? And did you notice or seen any differences between his stage show and TV work? I personally loved the effect with the 10 quid note, that was the highlight of the evening for me and then came the spectator as "mindreader" effect.

Not everything is magic. The whole thing with the girl and the cat in episode two of Trick or Treat is real. Here he really did use NLP techniques to "force" the girl into pushing the button. Of course a lot is magic but Derren and Andy made the boundaries of magic, psychology and hypnosis almost blend in. And again Andy Nyman is a brilliant magician/actor and Derren is a brilliant magician and hypnotist. These two are a great pair and I actually wish they would get on stage together and do an act. I would pay good money to see my two idols on the same stage.

I think that the whole under water scene is a dual reality approach. I assume that there were tools in that sack she used to free herself. We were supposed to believe that she escaped from the real cable-ties and duct tape by thinking up a smart thing. She must have thought: "I was trained to remain calm so I can judge the situation... I must use anything around me to safe myself and think outside of the box. Hey look tools, pliers... right I can use those to cut the wrist restrains. I even am in doubt whether she was dumped in that lake; It would be rather unsafe to dump a person in a sack into a lake. When she would've panicked a safety diver would not have gotten an ordinary sack open in time to help her. Even a gimmicked sack would be very da | |
