Really want to know.
The TV announcer woman said straight afterwards that Derren was only joking and that she was fine - don't worry!

Just finished watching the finale.
Mr. Brown's observations are quite on the mark.
It's funny how, we as humans, must still try to rationalize everything, after all these thousands of years. It's still there: our deep unconscious need, to give meaning to something that may truly be meaningless. No other species does that.
Here in my country, two hundred years ago, and ordinary farmer could look at a tree or a piece of iron or stone, and see a nail or a ladder or a gate. Now, we can't even go into a little diner, without staring at the chalkboard specials on the wall, and then asking the waitress what the specials are!
So few of us seem to be able to take a breath and step back, to try and see things from a different perspective...and I think Darren Brown plays on that, quite well, as we saw in the finale...tho' that Mr. Tennant didn't seem to be on the verge of a break-through, at times.

Correction: "Tho that Mr. Tennant didn't seem..."
I meant "did." Sorry, need new glasses...or maybe just a new brain, ha-ha.

I think Mr. Brown is just having us on, messing with out heads. If it wasn't reported in the papers or on the news--which it most certainly would have been--I think you can safely assume that a practical joke has been at work here. Cheers.

I thought this was a great episode apart from the end section, where he said that everyone apart from David Tennant was convinced that their actions were having an impact on the scoring. I'm not sure how this was all edited, but I was left with the impression that Derren thought it was OK to make fools out of the general public, but not his celebrity pal.

I can absolutely promise you that the announcer said she was fine about 2 seconds after the notice went up on screen - I know this because hubby and I were so shocked that we re-wound Sky plus to check if anything got said. I'm sure you can find it on You Tube somewhere or one of the fans on this forum must be able to confirm because they taped it

hey Oh im so glad she didnt die! because I was like OMG! she said oh I will probably die now after all these unlucky things have happened and I first though it was a massive coincidence but then I thought it was just a sick joke which it seems to be although No tv presenter said it was a joke after the programme.

I'm not sure it was a case of celebrity patronizing on Mr. Brown's part. At the very end, Mr. Tennant seemed to back off, and if you watch the show on YouTube, you may catch the actor saying something to the effect, that he wasn't sure there was any particular pattern or thing that they were supposed to do...his body language as well, indicated that he was just starting--possibly, to think outside the box a little. Of course, I may be wrong. Suggest we both check out the last of the final few moments to see for sure.

I can confirm that . The announcer said it was joke (playing on the fact that she had dropped a mirror-crossed a black cat -walked under a ladder etc) and that she was fine. .

Having closely followed ALL of Derren Brown's material throughout the last eight years, I wonder does he intend to release a line of hypnosis CDs, or self help packages ?
I for one would be extremely interested in purchasing some.

GIVE DERREN AN HOUR PLEASE, HALF IS JUST NOT ENOUGH
true..... half an hour isnt enough to be honest
Why not go the whole hog and have a "Derren Night", better still change Channel 4's name completely to "Derren-O-Vision" After all if Living TV can put that daft mare Yvette Fielding up chasing about the place looking for ghosties and wetting herself, why can we have the dapper and intelligent Mr B. scrambling our brains for an evening. Better still why don't we get Derren and Yvette Fielding together and then he can totally freak her out, now that would be quality telly and really worth staying in for !!! I would just love to see him play with her head !
Maybe 4OD could be changed from "4 On Demand" to "4 On Derren !"
