Bug, I already knew that. Iron burns them but also if faeries live near the city -which they call ironside- they die from suffercation due to all the iron in the air. there are various potions etc that help them live near cities but they kinda become dependant on them then. Put a feary in a car and they go all wierd and nearly die coz of all the iron...

OH, and "faery" is the english way to spell faery, and it gives it more of a celtic, mysterios element to them and more of a hint to their nature, where as "fairy" is the american way but is more associated with pink tutus and tiaras and such like, the steriotypical 'fairy' things...

Blimey, you know more about faeries than I do! Yeah I know that faery is a valid spelling, but I never let the facts get in the way of a good tease And speaking of spelling what the hell happened? You're turning into bala! So do you have faeries at the bottom of your garden? Have you read the Discworld book about them? I think it was called "Lords and Ladies".

hehe.. faeries fascinate me... stop teasing me, I'm nice! :P nah, I read Holly Black books - "tithe", "valient", "the spiderwick cronicles" and the faeries i like are human size so it'd be quite wierd if they lived at the end of my garden. Considering the end of my garden backs onto a field i suppose they could, field faeries hehe... I'm gunna get the Spiderwick guide soon, its a guide book on all the differnt types of faeries, but the least it costs is £15 I'll read that terry pratchett book when I have the time...maybe... how am I like Bala, no offence Bala, but I dont know how I am...

My God I love that series. I stopped reading them after the sixth book, because I kind of had Pratchett overload but I'm going to start re-reading soon. I have Guards! Guards! next. Woo.

It was your awful smelling quote: Originally posted by MacBecky: I have Guards! Guards! next. Woo.
That's a brilliant one, introduces Captain Vimes, who's the best Discworld character since Granny Weatherwax SF Rat Death appears frequently in the later books too I've tended to use Discworld books as a little light relief in-between weightier tomes

Granny Weatherwax was ace! I loved her! I loved the first Death one I read: Mort. It was really good. It went along with my favourite Light Fantastic and the green Granny WeatherWax one - I forget the name. Every so often, though, I find Pratchett slump a little. I haven't started a book since my Stephen Fry one, so Guards! Guards! will probably be my new read now

The Return of the Evil Beckster Rincewind was the cowardly failed wizard who always came through in the end, and he was in the very first two Discworld books; can't believe you don't remember him!

I have Guards! guards!. I also saw, on numerous occasions, the stage play when it toured a few years ago. Terry Pratchet himself was in the audience on one occasion.

Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.

I have a bad memory! That's all! Actually, that is my biggest worry. As strange as it sounds, I worry that I'm going to read all of these books and one day completely forget what they're about. I have nothing against re-reading books, it's just something I haven't started doing yet. There's so many books out there that I haven't yet read but would like to read that it keeps me from re-reading all my favourite books! Who knew the world of literature could be so scary Or make someone worry as much Or make me so ranty Or...*shut's up*

I'm sure there's a problem in there somewhere... There are some books that I like to re-read every now and then. Most notable is probably the Dune series, but that's a pretty big investment of time. When I re-read them I haven't forgotten them but I don't remember the details, and they're so good that I don't mind that I know what's going to happen (which is actually ironic, but you'd only know why if you'd read the books ).

If you need to ask then you haven't I always figured your quote was by Lister in Red Dwarf till I heard Kindra say it in Buffy...unless she was quoting Lister...maybe she was a big Red Dwarf fan... Best signature I've seen was "If you love something set it free. If it doesn't come back hunt it down and kill it" So what signature should I have then?

See now I can imagine Lister saying it, which is weird. I don't know...an easier IQ test? I have always had this sig, I changed it for a week once cos someone commented I had never changed it but everyone said it looked weird so I changed it back.

Ok here's an easier IQ test: What's 2+2? It's a sum! How'd you do? Heheh, don't worry, I know you're brainy really I reckon your signature could be ""Born lippy"

Did you know that if you google your signature the top results are for you, not the film?!? Although if you google for the correct quote I'm afraid you slip down to number two Not sure what that reveals about you...

Damn, that's cool. And yeah...I know it isn't the correct quote but I got it from some quotey website, I think. You see, when it comes to speed-writing and acute listening, I'm just a failure
