New PM!
|

If they'd had a ZPM they would have used it to power the chair, not a naquada generator (mark 2-woteva) And make one? Funny, if that was possible I think Carter would have done it by now.

Beckett: He fainted. McKay: Oh there's gotta be a better word. Beckett: Faint is a proper medical term. McKay: I passed out from... manly hunger!

Well all he has to do is make a little universe, put it in a bottle and save it for a rainy day... Do you know that the ZPM's contain their own little universes? Not sure if that's mentioned in season 1...if not then it's certainly not a spoiler anyway

He was on an episode of Babylon 5 playing a Mars freedom fighter. Oh, he was something on Star Trek once as well. On the episode, I really HATE!!!!!! cliffhangers like that.
Ranger Elenopa,
You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

I know, but that would spoil the fun wouldn't it? It's a sign of a good show if I'm left sreaming at the screen at the end of an episode. It's happening quite regualy with Lost and Bleak House at the moment.

Thought the episode was really good. It showed, I think more so than SG-1 at times, that the scientists are the ones with the real power. I thought it was nice that the Colonel eventually allowed Weir to do something constructive and that she was able to successfully bargin with the Genii. Also it was cool that Teyla was able to get the locals to help them fight. Thought that was a nice touch - obviously disappointed it has finished. It has been an interesting series, vaguely remember of few of Series 1 of SG-1 when I watched them originally, but now I'm older enough to appreciate things a bit more and I think this series was very impressive. In the early days they were finding their feet and not all the episodes have been great, but you can say that about any show in its infancy. As i've said before, I think the Storm was a turning point, but this series has overall be great. Keep it up - what will I now do with my friday nights?

It's not a writer problem, it's a timing one. In America, Stargate SG-1 is shown just before Atlantis, and had we had the same privilege - i.e. had we seen the last two episodes of Season 8 of SG-1 just before these last two episodes of Season 1 of Atlantis, the discovery of the ZPM in Egypt would make much more sense. I won't explain here to avoid spoilers, but trust me, once you've seen "Moebius", the last two episodes of SG-1 Season 8, you'll know how they found a ZPM. Great lines: (Rodney is trying to get Carson to work the chair.) McKay: “Concentrate on powering up the chair. Nothing else, nothing more, nothing but. Don’t start thinking about...” Beckett: “Don’t tell me what not to start thinking about, or I’ll start thinking about it!” (Carson is reluctant to give Rodney and Radek any more stimulants.) McKay: “Yeah, well, we're building nuclear bombs here! Staying awake is sort of a prerequisite.”

Oh no - It's Friday and no Atlantis - sob. Seriously though, I am going to miss it. Jenna, I guess it was similar on the whole Buffy-Angel thing when crossover of characters/story lines occured. You kinda had to see the episode from the other show to understand properly what was going on. Anyone know if Five have got rights for Series 2?

Bala has very kindly shown me there's a Stargate Atlantis thread!
I finally got round to start watching the Stargate Atlantis DVDs (as I can't get Channel 5 I hadn't seen it) Wasn't expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. It's pretty good. I prefer Stargate SG1 but Atlantis comes a very close 2nd.
Loved the bit on the first episode where Daniel Jackson kept asking to go and Jack O'Neill kept saying no! See I'm a Stargate Babe at heart!

Told you it was good Have you seen the whole season?

Hey, the actor who plays Simon, Elizabeth Weir's fella, is the same actor who plays Narim of the Tollan's in Stargate SG1!

No probs six of nine. And Stargate Babe, a personal fav ep of mine is the Storm about ep 10, thats when the series really got good - its a two parter.

Yes, 10 & 11 were fab. 12 was pretty good too. Oh dear, feel I'm getting hooked!

The Storm and the Eye are probably my favourite episodes too but the end of season two parter comes close. Enjoy!

"The Siege part 2" - keeping it vague for those who haven't seen it yet, but the bit where there's a montage of scenes partway into the episode while they're getting ready for what comes next: Best Music Ever. In my opinion, of course, but I absolutely love it!
