It is I wouldn't miss The Rising pt 1 and 2 as they are excellent I thought they were darker than SG1 but they are good. Smile

Wow! I'm so exicted, really looking forward to Atlantis, SG1 rules but it gets a bit predictable and too 'comfortable' if you know what i mean? It's like you know the characters so well that you know exactly what they are gonna do next.

Anyways Friday is my birthday, lol and I'm gonna be sitting in and watching Stargate Atlantis! Actually I'll be BBQ'ing if it aint flipping raining so i'm gonna have to tape it, might tape em all until beginning of series 8 SG1 on 4 actually, so it dont spoil the beginning of that . . . if i can be that patient that is!

Beckett: He fainted.
McKay: Oh there's gotta be a better word.
Beckett: Faint is a proper medical term.
McKay: I passed out from... manly hunger!

I watched a bit of Stargate Atlantis when it was on Sky, but didnt rate it too highly, thought SG1 was much better, but maybe it will get better as it goes on, spin off shows always seem a bit ropey at first.

I really like this spin-off, the good thing about this spin-off is that even though there were some new chacter, they also had familar faces like Dan and Jack from Stargate which made the transistion quite easy. i shouldn't jump to opinion based on one episoide but i like it. Let start with amusing missle incident, that guy was so scared to sit in the chair and i hope that guy stick around because he going provide light comic relief which is good thing for this series. This was first chance to see Shepard in action trying to dodge the alien missle. i liked jack expression when it came toward and sat there, sheappard' that was diffrent' Jack 'Not for me'

Shepard, i really like him because he has no clue what he's going face, he just found out about the stargate and now he got deal with what going happend, The thing i like about him is how friendly he is when he met other world civilsation. I got to be honest when i saw that women i actually thought she was the bad guy, i still don't know but it's from my experience any women that are that attractive have to evil, that's always been case with Stargate but i'm not sure if they will do that thing. BTW how did Sheppard get out of that chair?

The person leading exbitation, that women i still don't know what to make of her but i think she's a good decision-maker which is good when it comes to crunch time. Still i don't get why they showed family goodbye scene.

I really loved the double clifhanger, The first one was them running out of power and base might be flooded and second is Raven, i'm glad they decided to create new alien-bad guys. This spin-off has a lot potential to be a hit but my bet bet would be at least 3 seasons hopefully any more will prove to be a hit.

i'm definatly looking forward to next Friday.

It's not bad for a first episode. Waiting to see how the story develops.

As for spoilers for SG1, so we find out that Jack gets defrosted and promoted to General. I think I knew that before now, it's pretty hard to remain spoiler free from everything. The interesting part will be finding out how that happens.

The Atlantis stargate looks just different enough to be cool. I think we'll gloss over the fact that the Ancients and aliens speak English.

I don't think this will get shunted to late night. The reason 'The Dead Zone' got moved is because it is not a kid's show. It is very dark with a number of adult themes/scenes, and would have to have been heavily edited if it was to be shown early evenings.

Ranger Elenopa,

You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

There seems to be a trend of channels trying to out do each other and also by nicking shows off each other. Also this digital channel rubbish needs to stop. We don't need BBC3/4, E4, ITV2/3. It's all just a way for them to look superior when it is in actual fact spreading their resources really thin and causing we the viewers to suffer. Why can't channel 4 and five stick to a time every year to show a season of Stargate/Angel/Dead Zone...etc so as not to offend us with their incepid schedule changes and editing shows (that should not be in that time slot anyway) to the point of only being able to show the beginning and end credits!!!!

Phew...glad I got that off my chest

p.s Atlantis is excellent. Channel 4, pull your finger out...we need to see season 8 Now cos there are gonna be plenty of spoilers in Atlantis.

It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.

I know it looks quiet cool I think its meant to be like a digital version unlike the analoge Milky way gates and so can be dialed quick like the digital phones compared to the old dial phones

I liked it when they found the Iris kind of shield for the gate and McKay is going "using power, using power" when they forget that its draining their already depleting power.

I really liked Atlantis, i like the characters already Shepard is cool coz he's seeing everything for the 1st time, like most of them actually, which means altho we're used to weird goings on with SG1 we get to see it from a new perspective.
The Wraiths look cool - from the adverts, scary tho, like a cross between Ancients and vampires or something, creepy.
McKay is cool, well not cool, funny, I always like him when he was in stargate.
Looking forward to 2mo's second part!

Let's just re-cap what happend in last week episoide, basically SG-A team visit a planet to get resources for their base which lead to the introduction new alien species called Rafe, So the team are under attack and ship taking people include most of the team.

The Rafe, now we didn't know much about this alien species but at the end of this episoide we knew a lot more like the fact that that planet was it's feeding ground, So unlike Alien encountered in Stargate SG-1, these alien don't want to rule our planet they wants to eats us. now if i had choice of being ruled by alien or eaten, it's obvious which one i would of picked. Also we learn that they can suck our life away, that just seem like a rip-off of sci-fi flim that i saw years ago. The last thing we learn is that they can make us tell them anything they want to know. on the whole these alien are really a nasty piece of work.

The base, what a brillant S-FX , seeing the base rise to the surface, i didn't expect that but it makes sense they couldn't very well flooded the base so the only problem is that they have is no protection but everything else is ok. i wonder how they will sort this problem out. Now we saw last week episoide those ship but i didn't realise that the ship have a dial-up to the gate , that was good twist on SG story-line. Also i loved the fact that the Stargate was in space not on the ground another good twist.

ok, now Sheppard is in-charge, question who saw that coming a mile away, it was obvious he's was going to be the star, so they had to kill the other Cornal, i liked Sheppard line at end ' you do reaise i can get myself into a lot of trouble'.

Can't wait till next week episoide.
