As you know celeb BB is at a close. In the Dirk Benedict thread there has been laughter and insights and episode discussion. But have I found one on this thread? No. So I am setting up camp for all things A teamy to be discussed. (Silence) Er but not sure what to ask, so the threads all yours.
Der du der de de der.... (goes off humming tune)

I will! Frankie Frankie frankie But out of interest for a casual viewer who could be roped right into the viewing pleasure, Why was he bought in, if it was to help viewing figures, and did the episodes fail?

Boy did the episodes fail. The A-Team had been at the top for years, but the viewing figures had started to tail off. The Powers That Be decided that changing the format of the show would help bring in new viewers. It didn't. Plus it p*ssed off the existing ones, and a fair proportion of the cast.
In season five the guys no longer worked for themselves. They worked for General Stockwell, played by Robert Vaughn. He sent them off on missions that he wanted dealt with. The show lost its purpose and its direction.
Season five is often a difficult one. I love Remington Steele, but season five was unwatchable. I love Quantum Leap, but season five was dodgy in places. I love Angel, but there's quite a bit of season five that I don't know that I'll bother watching again... and The A-Team might well be my all time favourite show, but I still don't know if I'll bother buying season five when the DVDs come out.
Having said all that... Buffy season five wasn't bad. ER season five was rubbish, though. The West Wing... don't remember. Dukes Of Hazzard season five doesn't even have Bo and Luke in it, so least said...
I was 2 in 1987 when the A Team finished. I vaguely remember repats on a Saturday afternoon on ITV 1 (just ITV then). I don't think i've ever seen series 5, and I've never seen all of any series, though seen most of series 1 and bits of 2 and 3 and possibly 4, I have some on video. Only own one - 3 ep dvd, no series dvds, but I'd like to see Series 5 just to see what changed and such.

now what for dirk bendict? one of the natural winners due to BB. theatre perhaps. a new book.
I love the fact that he is happy to be assiciated with the programme.
Now that i have read his book i'll be interested to go back to my childhood and relook at these episodes. i don't remember each one individually, so it will be good to ook at them with a mature head.

I blinking well hope he does write a new book. I've been waiting long enough since the second one. As for what he'll do next, he's bound to get offers, but I reckon he's going to want to take a break. He's just not used to all this, and he'll want some time on his own, with the boys. I hope he gets his chance to work in the theatre, though.
Just been watching some clips of him dancing on the tubey place. I'm surprised nobody's uploading the skipping! Seems to have been an important part of a lot of people's mornings...
And yes, watch The A-Team! It's every bit as good as it was when you were a kid, honest. It's silly in places, and improbable, and yes, the continuity is sometimes dodgy. But it's so much fun!
Just grring even now cleo roccas and carole malone on BBBM (note used small c.s) cleo said that she rather dunk her hair in rhino phlegm than go out with Dirk. Then she said she had met his son who is the kind of man that you (Dirk) would wish to be. Grrrr ohn noel as an agent has his work cut out if he has her on his agency, the real truth is Dirk beat them fair and square. he has proven hes a man we all expected him to be. cleo failed becuase she turned into a woman that is embittered she wasn't the lighthearted kind funny woman at the end, she let 'us ' down. Iknow its a power pressure in the house and its difficult but several hms in there didn't go down that road. Bye cleo take a long time coming back. As for carole, I don.t read any of her opinions there are of no use in my world.
I know its only a game and i have a crush on Dirk, but still... ( now I am going to buy myself an A team dvd and a sapphire and steel thats a for another thread....)

Well would ya look at who I found! So this is where you're all hiding. I'd no idea there were other Ch4 forums, I thought it was all Big Bro based. I hadn't a clue of this Cult TV place y'all were talking about!
It's so nice to see some friendly faces, if you thought the BB forum was bad before it's murder today!!
Oh, Cleo. I've always liked her so much. She always seemed so sweet and funny. I just don't know what to think now. I was pointed towards the leg waxing scene at a "popular video site", and jeez, what a way to behave! You don't go telling people that you hate them like that! Her whole attitue was unbelievable. And I assume the miserable blonde was Jo. What a pair.
Still, the leg waxing was funny. *Is proud of Dirk for not squealing like Jack did* Though admittedly he had a lot less hair to come off.
He was liberated yesterday. What's he still hanging around the studio for?!
Fly, Dirk! Fly away free!
As for the forum, I have had to defend him so many times against accusations of sexism, misogyny, grumpiness, etc, that I think my fingers could now merrily type the arguments out in my sleep. And possibly do. I haven't been back in there, I don't think, since I got hammered by some nutcase in an argument about hunting for food. I said I was against it, but rather preferred it to the conveyor belt of commerical farming and the slaughterhouse. Seems fairer, somehow. This meant, apparently, that I was in favour of the wholesale slaughter of endangered species.
Okay...
And Dirk doesn't shoot bears anyway, damn it!
*Sigh*
Anyway, must keep the arguments out of this section. We're trusted to be good in here. We don't get forum lockdown at midnight.
Hi Ruby Thought I'd pop in for a Dirk fix now I can't watch him every day!! Did you spot that you were quoted on the channel 4 BB dating article yesterday drooling about Mr Bendict? Can we get A team dvds- I know you can see it on cable/ sky etc but I'm too mean to pay up! However I think I'll get his book once I've been paid. Love to you and it's good to meet you Mickey!!
************************************************************************* Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
oh by the way series 1 dvd is 15.99 at play.com and they did a best of episodes( about 6 not sure for 5.99) and they also do Dirks confessions for 10.99. its very deep and personal and spiritual, with humour and a side that wasn't shown in BB.
Love to you too. ( Lets go and chase Mickey but we'll play nice)
