I am looking forward to this series after seeing Jonas Armstrong in Ghost Squad...Richard Armitage who was in North and South is playing Guy of Gisbourne so that's a plus too! Cool

I remember when Robin Hood was played by Micheal Praed and Jason Connery after him in the 80's....

Most of us are in the same position, Redslady. Wink

I doubt there'll ever be a Robin Hood to rival those two. Smile

No chance. The makers of this version are going to want to distance themselves as much as possible from the last one. Otherwise it's comparisons all the way.

The trailer for the new show has left me feeling underwhelmed. Bag o' shite.

Apparently Paul Cornell's episode(s) is/are worth watching. Don't knowwhich his are, though. The first episode hasn't impressed the preview audience much.

Apparently Friar Tuck is coming in mid season.

I heard this from a friend, so don't know the original source.

Ranger Elenopa,

You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

He's not mentioned anywhere.

Anyhow, it's not Tuck they need - it's Nasir. Razz

With quite a bit of searching, I've found a mention.

Times online article. Look down at the bottom.

However, one element missing is Friar Tuck, who was left out of the initial episodes because the producers believed that the character, mocked for his rotund figure, would not appeal to modern viewers.

It is believed that Tuck has since had a reprieve and will appear in future episodes.

Still don't know if it's true.

The inital Press stuff said that Tuck hadn't been included because it was felt that there was nothing for him to do, and that much of his role was already being filled by Marion. He's not mentioned on the website.

I'm willing to give this a try. It does look good and we do need something decent for a Saturday night.

I read in The Radio Times that the producers are waiting to see if a second season is comissioned, then they will introduce a Friar Tuck....I believe he was omitted for PC reasons ie his tubbiness! Confused Roll Eyes

There's a looped trailer running on channel 301 (BBCi) at the moment.

A half hour show?

I was looking forward to this, until I saw that it is only 30 mins long. Frown

Ha so they think their viewers are going to fat, and liable to be offended by a fat character being laughed at.. that is really pathetic!!
