Some of us (i'm sure more than just me) listened to to what you said, rather than just stare blankly at a tv on Sunday afternoon. If you cannot remember what you said on tv then that is not my problem. You do remember being on tv on sunday ? I'd ask you the question again - but I doubt you will answer it. - We are all looking forward to to your next reply.

Yep, Maybourne's back. But even better Jack is in the episode lots. It's like an earlier season ep with the whole team.

I think you'll find I said I'd been on Irish radio tallking about star trek before, not TV. quote:

If you're referring to your constant question about the animal noise, I haven't answered because it doesn't make sense to me. Claw's thing was an animal sound, has nothing to do with me. Did you say you didn't stare blankly at the tv?

You have your memory back - well done. I'd call you a media professional because of your previous media experience. You mean we all have to endure you in that outfit again next week ? and Another dig - wow lucky me. Sigh: the art of 't4 scfi parody' is lost on some.

I like Maybourne. He should get his own show.

One of the handy things about forums is that you don't need a good memory; it's all still there One of the handy things...wait, have I already... Anyway why the animosity? I can understand that you might think that wearing a costume just reinforces the stereotype of sci-fi fans. Personally I think people should lose the xenophobia and embrace diversity. And isn't that really what's Star Trek's all about? If people think I'm a geek for liking sci-fi then I could care less but it would take an extra-special effort It does annoy me that T4 seem to have a sci-fi expert just so that they can take the piss close-up and personal rather than ridiculing their faceless viewers. That's hardly the experts' fault though. Six do you know yet if you're on again this week? Would you please tell Steve that he smells and his mum dresses him funny?

I'll try to remember to pass that on I've been given a few other messages by various guys and girls to pass on but I think they're a bit too indecent to bring up on a sunday afternoon! To be honest, I know T4 take the piss a bit but it's actually quite a laugh there and everyone was lovely to me.

Well you could always say the things to him in Klingon, the language of love Tell you what, give him a plate of live Ghakt (sp?). Ok, if you can't get Ghakt then worms should do I guess we're a little sensitive from years of them belittling us, makes it hard to see the funny side. Get a few funny digs in and you'll have my vote for life

Bugblatter: Its not personal - but a parady of the people T4 like, and some odd reason people accept the challenge Thus we get animal noises, fancy dress parades, and probably people whom have probably seen it sg and st:ent on sky one, or dvd. quote: I can understand that you might think that wearing a costume just reinforces the stereotype of sci-fi fans. Yes - its the way T4 do it, no 'science', discussion of ethics ? quote: It does annoy me that T4 seem to have a sci-fi expert just so that they can take the piss close-up and personal rather than ridiculing their faceless viewers. That's hardly the experts' fault though.
Dressing up is something I gave up with Barbie Dolls - is this the definition of an expert somebody in fancy dress ? T4 dont have to show scifi do they. quote: Six do you know yet if you're on again this week? Would you please tell Steve that he smells and his mum dresses him funny?
I'd say something a bit stronger too would be good too - 'like just think if t4 had a crazy frog ringtone sale day' - just think of the money 't4' could make for channel 4.

I agree Bugbaltter, they do seem to deliberatly take the mickey just because some people like Sci - fi - it's like its a chore talking about it.

quote: Sunday's episode "The Man Who Would Be King" (I think I've remembered it right but you know me!) looks good
Yep 'It's Good To Be King' is a great episode with a cool atlantis link! Thats all i shall say as not to make it a spoiler, but it definately is a good one. Maybourne is a great character, i am glad they kept with him as guest star as him and jack are great comedy together!

glad sgi holds onto its secondary cast like maybourne, kinsey and various jaffir/tokra-they can always build stories around them.
|
| |
|

This episode/ entire season would be even better if it had been shown in sync with season 1 of Atlantis. Such a pity they were bought by different channels.

True, although there's not much interplay between the two series.

Aw... hell... it's not gonna be an Atlantis show, is it? I still haven't been able to get on board with Atlantis. I'm not exactly the biggest fan. But.. if it's a Jack and Maybourne episode then I suppose the pluses balance out the minuses!

I haven't seen the ep in ages but from what I remember I think it's just that the Ancients get a mention.

Can someone quickly give me re-cap about maybourne?
it's been ages since we seen him in an episode

Well stargate was interesting episode, not sure what to make of it mainly because the prophecy came true SG-1 did save the people so it seem like filler episode.
