Congrats SGBabe Smile

Not necessarily a filler. Bear in mind that they came away with a working puddle-jumper which may even be able to travel in time. Not bad for a day's work Smile

Hey yeah congrads StargateBabe. Bala, Maybourne last appeared in series 6 epiosde Paradise Lost, and basically, Maybourne accompanies SG1 to this plant where they may find a weapon, only to trick them and try to get to a Utopia that he has heard about - he goes but ends up taking Jack with him and everything is not as rosey as it first seemed. There is a plant that they eat and it causes halluncinations and Maybourne keeps on eating it, despite Jack's warnings, which results in Jack shooting Maybourne (i think) and it turns out that they are simply on the planet's moon. the Tok'ra rescue them and send Maybourne to another planet rather than back to prison on earth.

Hope this helps. Six of Nine, Steve seemed a little nicer this week, though after speaking bad of your outfit last week, he is now all for it. Strange...

Oh, and Six of Nine, I don't usually watc h Enterprise, but I am curious, what was the biggest continuity flaw of Star Trek that yesterday's episode cleared up?

Oh and What happend to the Puddle jumper at the end? It seemed to disappear - has it gone back to earth? And could a ship like that really destroy an Gou'ald Mothership?

They took the Jumper back to Earth, as you'll discover in a future episode.

The Jumper fired drone weapons at the mothership, the same weapons that Jack used against Nuby's fleet in "Lost City part 2", so yes, a PJ can definitely destroy a mothership!

Thanks for the congrats everyone. G8 Nephew is so cute (but then I'm biast!)

Yes I wondered where the puddle jumper went! I expect because it was made by the Ancients it had the capability to destroy the Gou'ald mothership.

Well you find out next week what continuity error is cleared up but the clues are already there, enough to figure it out Wink

The augments are involved but that's not it. I don't want to give you more clues because that would spoil it. It's pretty cool though.

What's all this 'filler' (said with disdain) episode business? I would have called it a 'standalone' which used to be the Stargate standard before all this season arc, show-mythology stuff started taking over the world. I know that there is a place for season arcs, a season without one would be fairly poor. But, I don't like it when the season arc drowns out the stories. Stargate are good at stories, so they were always really good at standalones.

I love standalones, they're generally really good, concise stories and the best character stuff comes in a standalone. I get quite depressed when my favourite shows (The X-Files, Buffy... and now Stargate) start relying heavily on season arcs and show mythology. It bores me and, quite frankly, seems to herald the death of the show. Because (yes, I'm going to say it again...) PLOT GETS IN THE WAY OF A GOOD STORY!

LONG LIVE THE STANDALONE!

Anyone else think this episode ruined any chance of the Goa'uld being seen as credible threat again?

<just sticking in my two cents, haven't had time to post in a couple of days & won't be around for the rest of this week but I'll be back Cool>

I stopped finding the Goa'uld scary a while back. The replicators and Wraith are far more deadly.

Yeah... and here was me biting my tongue even though I wanted to jump up and down and say 'I KNOW IT, I KNOW IT!!'.

I still think the goa'uld are scary. They're a great bad guy. I always thought the goa'uld were scarier than the replicators. We haven't had a really good goa'uld for a while, though (or a really bad goa'uld, I suppose). Although, Ba'al was very sinister. I thought so, anyway.

I think the Goa'uld are scary but only because the Replicators aren't in every episode, where more often than not the goa'uld are. The replicators turn up once a series if that, though this series they are around more. I guess as one series of baddies wanes another rises to take their place - like System Lords really.

Nothing got resolved, we found out that the Goa'uld have a foothold on Earth. Some of the Trust were destroyed but it's unlikely that they were the entire organisation.

Next week: Citizen Joe! Definitely a love-it or hate-it episode (count me among the love-its). If you thought "Wormhole X-Treme!" was hilarious, then you'll enjoy Citizen Joe but if you thought WX was rubbish, you might want to find something else to do next Sunday. It's pretty much a standalone episode so you won't miss anything.

Then the huge HUGE five part build to the end of the season. (Reckoning part 2 - Best Episode Ever in my opinion)

Does anyone yet know whether we'll get the long or short version of "Threads"? Someone I can't see T4 giving us an extra half an hour, but it would be SUCH a shame if they broadcast the short version.

Jenna i agree with you about T4 - they are unlikely to give an extra half hour to Stargate. I haven't seen the full length version and am looking forward to seeing the last few episodes.

Six of Nine, did you prefer Varnon this week instead of Steve? He was a little nicer to you than Steve was. And where do people vote to keep you in or not - do they? I just have never seen it on here or anything - not that i want it to change Wink

Didn't seem to be a voting form this week. I didn't get home from work until late on sun and there was no link to the form when I went online.

Dr_Greene, I haven't seen it so don't know how it comes across on tv but when I was there I actually thought that Vernon took the p-a bit more than Steve. They were both really nice to me though.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the full verson of Threads too.
