The in-jokes were way, WAY too much and they weren't funny. The clips seemed to be chosen at random. The whole thing smacked of trying to recreate Wormhole Extreme which I enjoyed immensely, but it never quite made it. The storyline was awful and before you start quoting myself back at myself I did say the 'story' not the 'plot'. It was a lame story. It didn't make sense, it didn't ring true, it wasn't interesting. The explanation at the end that Jack had visions of this guy was pointless, stupid and didn't lead to a joke funny enough to make that worthwhile. It was the kind of show that is so bad, whilst being a show I would usually enjoy, that it's made me kinda angry.
There were some cute moments (I'm sure there were more but the only one that springs to mind right now is when Jack's introducing the others to Joe) and Jack in his dress uniform never hurts but overall another lame story that did nothing but remind me of how great the show once was and how little I am enjoying it now. Damn, I'm pissed off!
Even Stargate is not immune to the old "flashbacks" ep, allowing a cheapy ep to be made whilst the main stars have a mid season holiday.

Amanda Tapping?? **shudder** Can`t they lose her somewhere.... permenanatly? Sam Carter... the expert in all things, is even a better medical expert than a medical expert. And don`t let me get started on how on earth a high ranking AirForce officer can get away with being so scruffy while wearing Dress Uniform.

Lol, well I'm male, so I kinda disagree, but can see where you're coming from - it's like sometimes she is not human - her theories etc, and her always saving the world.

It just bugs me that after all the chaos over the years Jack is going to have this superiority complex and leave the show despite the whole 'feelings' thing for Sam and when season 9 starts it's all going to be so different! Don't know about anyone else but this season's finale will be the finale for me cos it won't be the same without Anderson!

I kinda agree with that. The end of this series does feel like the end, and would have been a good way to finish. I've been watching the new series and it's like a different show. It has its moments but it's nowhere near as good.

Clips shows are par for the course but Stargate's previous clips shows were quite a lot of fun. And the story containing the clip show was generally good. 'Citizen Joe' just made me really cross because it was so not good. The blurb for the show made it seem like one that I'd really enjoy and I really didn't. It was a bit of a letdown, really. I have enjoyed some of this season, there's been some lovely episodes - last week's was very enjoyable, but there have been some shows I could have missed and not been brokenhearted. Last couple of seasons have left me a bit disappointed. I've never been quite as upset as over 'Citizen Joe' though!

I know exactly how you feel about Season 8, Becca. I felt the same. The bad news is that, if you react to Season 9 the same way I did, you'll go back and watch Season 8 eps and think, "Meh, they weren't so bad after all."

I can never get the stargate dvd's to play when i rent then (i'd never buy them) - they crash, the episode that everybody else seems to have seen (but not me) excused and explained the bad acting seen in the last 8 series. Thats my take

Wow, we knew Sam replicator was planning something major but taking on gourd and defeating them seem like best thing for SG-1 but they don’t replace replicators. Kidnapping Daniel and trying acess ancient knowledge was a good plans and she manged to find what she was looking for.
Jack ruled in this episode witty banter with Bal was brillant and then he reveal about anubus which I trying figure out what that was. Stil talk about a clif-hanger when u see one. T’eal under attack on both front goul’d and replicators, I would be interested into seeing how things turn out next week.

Great episode. Jack at his best. I worked out that it was replica Sam and not Olma. A bit obvious. Will have to watch it again later as kept getting interupted! The cheek!

Brilliant stuff. Concurrently watching the last few episodes on DVD. I had forgotten how good they are.
Can't imagine "Threads" cut to schedule. The whole 60 minutes is great. It'll be interesting to see what they cut on T4.
As for the last two episodes after that ... phew ... breathtaking!

That was great. Had everything great about Stargate in it - the Asgard, Jack#s witty comments, a cliff hanger. Am looking forward to next week's episode. Thought it was fantastic.
