Looking forward to seeing "Threads" again next week, though I'm going to cry my eyes out at the end because, as far as I'm concerned, that's the last truly good episode of "Stargate SG-1"

would have to agree with you on that! although the 2 part series 8 finale is still good.

By the way. The character I most hate is Daniel. Ever since season 6 I have hated him

I really like Jonas Quinn in season 6 thought his character was good! It was a pitty they never got to explore his characters physyology because it was mentioned a few times about being interesting! By Anubis and Nerti. I wish he had come back in season 9.

No really. I really liked Stargate in Series 1-5. The 6 was OK then 7 was stupid with Daniel returning in the buff.

Atlantis is even worse. I thought it started off OK in season 1 nut Season 2 is poor. They need a new creative team for fresh ideas.

Hmm well, I agree Series 6 wasn't as good as previous ones, but I thought Series 7 was ok and thus far Series 8 has been Great. Sunday's episode was....amazing.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion as everyone have different tastes but I don't know why YOU bother watching!

I can't comment on Atlantis as I've not watched any of them but Stargate's been good. Granted it's not what it used to be at the beginning but nothing ever is but it's still good. I've not seen S9 yet so can't comment on that but I am looking forward to seeing what it's like for myself.

Actually I have stopped watching both shows now. I do think after 9 years they need new producers/writers. The current lot have taken it as far as they can. I don't want to go into series 9 details as its spoliers for many.

oh and atlantis series 2 is poor!! (its like they use scripts from Voyager!)

I'm glad your looking forward to it as it will be nice to get other peoples views on it. Although it may be a while as Sky are still showing it lol!

My last word I will say on Atlantis is it was better when they were isolated as it gave the show an edge.

Hmm I can see where you're coming from, but for me the turning point of Atlantis was the Storm. That was, for me anyway, such a good two parter, that the series went up hill after that. I can't comment on series 2 though.

Yes the Storm was the mid season story wasn't it with Robert Davi. That was a good episode.

Well this was an interesting episode, where do I start, I was happy about jack new girlfriend but they had to bring back Carter and jack story-line, after all we almost forgot it, anyhow both relationship ended, kind of felt bad Sam financer because he didn’t deserve it, after all they have been through she does this to him.

The revelation abuis ascendance thank to same woman who help Dan, I’m glad Dan back but him naked was rather funny, so please tell abuis is finally dead?.

He's not dead but he's a little busy fighting Oma (sp?). To make up for her mistakje in helping Anubis to ascend she's basically sacrificed herself, committing herself to an eternity of fighting Anubis in order to keep him from destroying the galaxy.

Very like an episode of ST-TOS when someone from an antimatter version of our universe comitted to fighting the version of him from our universe in a corridor between the two universes to keep the one from our universe from destroying it.

Wow! Brilliant!

I don't want to know any spoilers but good idea of Jack retiring so that Jack & Sam could finally be 'together'. Valentine

Had a feeling the big guy was Anubis.

Daniel in the buff again!!! .... where's the cold shower????? Wink

Is there only one episode left?

I think the later seasons are difficult to get into because they have an established mythology and make a lot of past references/ in jokes. I wouldn't begin watching from where it is now to be honest. I think most sci-fi shows these days have the same problem, very few stand alone shows, they rely on the viewers knowing about past events.

On the other hand coming late to a show is fantastic because you have years and years to catch up on and get the pleasure of watching it all at once without season breaks, network changes interfering with scheduling or expectations that fans have of two parters and specials having discussed them for hours on the 'net. Personally I love finding a show or book series that I missed out on first time around. But if you're going to do it, watch from the first season. Amazon usually rent the boxsets reasonably.

"Word of caution. The whole Captain Kirk routine is problematic, to say the least, let alone morally dubious."
