It still had the magic right up until very recently, I reckon. There were always a few episodes that I don't exactly watch over and over (usually one with a lot of boring jaffa stuff or a Teal'c episode...). But that's just personal preference, I guess. Recently even episodes that are my kind of SG-1 episode I could skip and not be upset (although if I did skip it I wouldn't know it wasn't the best show ever so that sentence didn't really work). My theory is that it's fallen into that crazy X-Files trap where the show's mythology takes over and it all gets a bit heavy and all about the exposition. Which is a shame (... that reminded me a bit of that 'Fast Show' character who used to say... 'which was nice' after a great long story about lear jets and gold toothbrushes...)

I liked this episode, well the beginning anyway. It started off with some good ol' stargate humour, which was brill. For a Teal'c episode I liked it, I usually dont, infact even tho i own the DVD's of season 5 i've only eva seen the Warrior once, wen it was on tv. But this was real good. Ishta was back, and this time I didnt hate her. Jolene Blalock showcased her classical hysterical fit special, wen she was arguing with Teal'c, which I actually thought was a brill scene. But the best bit by far, the ping-pong match between Jack and Teal'c, did u hear the bit wen Jack cleared his throat after his voice went all high after he was hit where it hurts, lol. The horses were also good! Can't not mention the moving performances by the horses. Oh and the best line of the season so far : 'I've always found that sticking your fingers in your ears and humming loudly solves a whole slew of problems.' Sound advice there.

Can I ask what episode Ishta was last in? I vaguely remember her, but not clearly. Thought this episode was particularly good, some nice scenes, like when Daniel puts his hand on Carter's shoulder etc. Thought it was funny with all the horses etc, you wouldn't think you'd get live animals down there. Jack was funny and cool as per usual. However, was a bit disappointed Carter didn't get more air time, but still good ep, and it was more of a Teal'c episode anyway.

Jaffa episodes are so BORING. Worth watching for Jolene Blalock who's a lovely actor and the few scenes with the main cast acting dumb. But... as Urgo would say... boring. Now THAT was classic Stargate.

In comparrison to the rest of the season so far though (apart from one or two) it wasnt that boring. And I personally thought it was one of the more enagaing 'Jaffa' episodes. I think Ishta is a good character, which helps, previously its just been Teal's and Brat'ac -occasionaly Ryac- running around with a bunch of Jaffa we just met who inevitably die or get injured at the end.

Well I really enjoyed this episode-mainly because it was original-hi-jack a Stargate has to be one of the best story-lines I have ever seen, it was brilliant-I mean I’m was rather surprised this didn’t happened sooner. Still anything with the Trust has to be good, I love there plan to wipe out the Toca and to certain I understand why they did eliminate the threat . Still I love the re-cap it helps a lot focus your thought on what’s going to happened, I’m glad they got it back but at cost of not get poison which mean this will come up again.

They could dial in, but Colonel Pierce said, and I quote, "We can establish a wormhole but all we get is a “do not proceed” response to our IDC." So they could dial in, but they were being told not to step thru. I liked this episode, it had a bit of everything, humour, action, drama (thankfully no romance, bleurgh Pete, bleurgh Ishta) When Teal'c and the other guy were standing looking at all those bodies, it was like woah. I mean we usually here about these massacres and awful things but we dont really see it. Cool to see the Trust again, the guys gun was really cool, sorry thats a little weird, i was just wow it looks like a revolver but no its like rapid fire, anyways . . . Gary Davies was the best, he does the best little comedy moments and shocked reaction faces. Him and Peter DeLuise do the funniest DVD commentaries. Conclusion? This series is definitely getting better, hooray!

Yeah I liked the fact that Carter kicked butt, but also we saw Daniel in a more physical role - it's not often we see him punching someone, and even rarer it being successful - to an extent. I think that is the first time I've actually seen Daniel use his fists to fight.
