OK, who screwed up and put the CBBC DOG on the screen at the beginning?
Ranger Elenopa,
You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

That was cool. When they twigged they took it away, so we had a DOG-less episode. They should screw up more often.

Good. I'm glad about that, as it's come in for a bit of stick already, for being too "different". One of the strengths of this show, I think, is that each episode is very different to the others, but I'm not sure everybody has got this yet. Mind you, nine episodes in, if you haven't figured out to expect the unexpected yet, I think you've had your brain turned off all along.

Well i love stuff with a message (hence i enjoy Scrubs etc), and this certainly had that, about life etc. So I enjoyed it. It was a bit like that episode of Dr Who last series, which Peter Kay was in, was that episode 9 too? But no I thought it was very well written and acted and poigniant and meaningful, and good.

This is where we'd have to disagree, as 'Love and Monsters' was one of my least fave DW episodes last year & "Invisible Eugene" was my least fave Torchwood so far. Not that I'm against mixing up the narrative - I just felt the story didn't really go anywhere. It could have been much stronger if: - We had seen Eugene hanging around in earlier episodes - The Van Stratten corporation were sniffing around after the eye - Eugenes 'mates' had been less inconsistant in their behaviour - a logical reason for Eugenes' dad leaving was given Still next weeks episode looks interesting - though as any good Trekkie knows its a familiar set up

Well I'll give you the thing about maybe seeing Eugene earlier, yes, that would've been nice, but I'm gonna have to say this is one of my fav eps so far! The Love and Monsters one in Dr Who was good, wasn't my fav but good, but this is one of my fav's this series.

Come to think of it I did prefer 'Love & Monsters' to 'Fear Her' though theres not much in it Not sure which is my favourite Torchwood yet - probably going to be the faeries one though.

Thoughts on Random Shoes This was, definitely Love And Monsters Part 2 and if this series gets seconds, I bet we'll see more of these kind of episodes. No Peter Kay in alien fat suit - that's the one thing it's gotten right. Eugene - I recognised Paul Chequer from As If and I liked Eugene enough in this episode although he doesn't have the same charm as Marc Warren did. The story had a simplicity to it that was effective but overall not very engaging. He's also the only person to actually like TW as well. A first for the series. Mr Garett - Did he give Eugene the Dogan's Eye, knowing what it could actually do? I saw this a second time and it felt like maybe he did but then again I could be reading into it too much. Gwen - First episode in a long time that I really, really liked her. She was proactive, caring and determined to find out what happened tio Eugene and for once, she put the others to shame. Jack/Ianto - Can I hope that they were off somewhere having sex or uncovering some alien artifact but the lack of them in this episode makes me want to weep if I'm being honest. Owen/Toshiko - Did anyone else want to punch the guy in this episode? Owen more or less wasd the worst thing about this hour? He doesn't have to like Eugene but a bit of respect and compassion wouldn't have killed him either. Even Toshiko lacked some sensitivity for the guy. The Jones/Josh/Gary - Well the family dynamics were fine but god, did we have to get "Danny Boy"? Terry gave the best eulogy when shouting at his mum about Eugene. Pity he didn't recite it at the funeral. Gary and Josh - just pathetic losers. Liked the music - Anthony and the Johnsons "Hope There's Someone" and David Bowie's "Starman" Hated all the fact throwing - too distracting. A 6/10 from me.

On first viewing, I`m not very keen on this ep. But I`m sure that when I watch it again, I`ll pick up on things that I obviously missed the first time around. Fer instance..... Eugene auctioned the Eye off on ebay. Isn`t selling body parts illegal under ebay rules? Apart from that, wouldn`t ALL the Torchwoods be monitoring places like ebay for strange artifacts to turn up? Especially artifacts being sold from the UK.

I LOVED THIS EPISODE! I don't know why, but the writing of this episode REALLY did it for me And Ianto seemed very happy...I wonder why My only criticism is superficial really: there was too much Gwen and not enough Jack!

I was looking on the outside of a freeview box the other day in asda, and it said that BBC 3 is one of the channels. Can someone confirm this? as I thought people were saying that they wouldn`t be able to watch Torchwood on BBC3. I`ve just been informed by my other half who`s currently channel hopping downstairs that the "Cult of.......Blake`s 7" is on. HMMMM...... I didn`t realise it had it`s own show, I thought it was part of that weekly thingy I was videoing. No wonder I wasn`t seeing much B7. Luckily for me, the prog is being repeated later on tonight. And yes, I`m probably behind the times again Mickey!!

BBC3 is a Freeview channel, yes. Cult Of B7 is a one off documentary about B7 that is part of a series of such docs. Previously covered were Doomwatch, Adam Adamant Lives! and The Tripods. Or are the Tripods up next week? I forget. It was a bit rubbish tonight. The AAL! one was brilliant, but tonight's was rather cruel in places, and Gareth Thomas is a pillock.

It's a brilliant series, with outstanding AIs so far. If you're disappointed then I'm sorry, but the viewers are loving it.

I`ll be rewatching this week`s Torchwood agin in the morning - been busy doing my 1st aid refresher course this week. I seem to remember it being a lot harder 3 years ago. Yet I managed to be in and out of the assessors` rooms in a tad over 5 mins each. 8 of us were all done and dusted in just under 50 mins.

It shouldn't be hard for a refresher course, surely? You already know it all. Barring the complicated bits, like when they keep changing how many times you're supposed to compress the chest before blowing in CPR.

I`ve been qualified for around 12 years now. And yes, they do keep updating stuff, but still I`ve never been in and out quite so fast. Ive had chance to look over the notes I made during my refresher 3 years ago, and we didn`t cover all the stuff I had to memorise last time. Basically now, unless people have open wounds we don`t do anything except wait for the ambulance to arrive. Unless they`re not breathing of course. One of the messages this trainer kept telling us was that it is perfectly OK to walk past without helping someone on the street. Sad, but true, because in this day and age, you stop to help someone and you`re more likely to get sued than thanked.
