Faith and Wes on a psycho trip are gonna need someone with a calming influence, who could exude the voice of reason. Spike for example!

Giles and Buffy don't need to go psycho. I meant that that's what a Wes 'n' Faith spin off would be like. Spike could guest if you like. Don't know he'd be very calming, though.

Bah. 1989, Bala. 1989 they took Doctor Who away, and locked it up in a little cupboard at BBC Television Centre. They told us to wave it goodbye, they told us we would never see the Doctor again. "Get over it," they told us. Now not only have we just had a smash hit brand new series, but we have a Christmas special, a second series, and a spin-off all coming up in the next eight months. Plus another Christmas special after that. And another series after that. So to getting over it!

Doctor Who the only series returning from the dead???? The ONLY series returning from the dead???????????? Let me start a long list of series that have been reserrected. Lost in Space Charlies Angels Mission Impossible. Starsky and Hutch Dukes of Hazzard. Firefly/Serenity. Farscape Oh and the most Famous of all DEAD series that after 15 years off the TV made a phenomenal comeback spawning another FOUR spin offs and, what, 10 movies. Bala, I give you the STAR TREK franchise.

New TV series - dead before broadcast. Charlies Angels = urgh Mission Impossible = argh! Starsky and Hutch = wasn't any S&H I recognised. Dukes of Hazzard = that travesty was not the Dukes. Firefly/Serenity = I'll allow that one, but it hadn't been dead for long. Barely stopped breathing. Farscape = Yeah, well. Star Trek is a funny one. Everybody hated it, the series was axed because it was so unpopular. What the hell happened?! Anyway, sadly Bala, The A-Team is to be resurrected, yes. I can't imagine it will be any better than any of the ghastly big screen remakes, but we might get lucky.

TBH, apart from the Star Trek incarnations (NOT Enterprise)and it`s Movie Franchise, the only film remake of the series Ive listed has been Firefly/Serenity. I caught a glimpse of Lost in Space which I disliked. Starsky and Hutch, from what I read was just a p*ss take. The Dukes of Hazzard film seemed to focus on how little Daisy Duke was wearing. Mission Impossible was far too gimmicky, and cgi orientated - the series was about a GROUP of people, not ONE individual. But, whether the film remakes were brilliant or disasterous, it`s still a fact that they were all originally long dead serieses (serii??) that were brought back from the dead. OMG, they`re remaking the A team???? with whom?? Is nothing sacred? They`ll be reviving MacGyvver next with some current Toy Boy as the lead.

They'd better not!

They did try to make a new MacGyver series recently. It was to be a "MacGyver Jnr" approach, as all TV shows everywhere must have teenagers in them nowadays. Or so say certain bosses, anyway. It was going to be about MacGyver's nephew. MacGyver didn't actually have a nephew, or indeed any family at all save a faintly confused grandfather, but such complaints were kicked aside. The series didn't ever really happen. I guess a pilot must have been made. Didn't hear anything else after that. As for The A-Team, this has been on the cards now for ten years. I remember a draft scipt being leaked onto the Net when I was still at college. It was awful! Stephen J Cannell is desperate to get it done, and supposedly George Clooney really wants to play Hannibal. Which means it'd probably end up being Ocean's Eleven part III or something. Yuck.

Star Trek still counts, even using your definition of a series coming back from the dead.

It's also rather apt that "Randall & Hopkirk - Deceased" came back from the dead Although it would have been better left in peace, the remake was dire!

quote: Originally posted by bala: Enterprise got cancelled but fair point
But the original series was cancelled way back in the late 60s. The Next Generation brought the series back to life, followed by Deep Space Nine, Voyager, then Enterprise. TNG started in 1987, enterprise finished in 2005, thats 18 years more Trekverse, after around 18 years off the TV. And, of course, we`ve not even mentioned the 1970s Animated version. !!! oh, and i found another TV show that was cancelled, and revived years later. Bonanza. The Bonanza remake may not have been successful, but it was a remake! Oh and not forgetting Dark Shadows!, this show was very nearly the ONLY show to be resurrected TWICE!!

Argh! Speak ye not of the Randall And Hopkirk remake, nor of the Bonanza one, ye sinners! Michael Landon Jnr, hang your head in shame. And Reeves and Mortimer?! What were the casting directors thinking?! Things couldn't have been worse if it had been Reeves and Mortimer in New Bonanza, and Michael Landon Jnr in Randall And Hopkirk. And I don't even want to think about New Battlestar Galactica. Poor, poor Starbuck. What have they done to you?!
