Space 1999 annoys me for the most apart. I find the pacing excruciating, and the astoundingly awful performance of Barbara Bain is enough to induce tears. I don't like the first series at all. Series two is unutterably daft at times, but Tony and Maya are cool - and anything with Tony Anholt in it is worth watching. The plots aren't great though, and Sunday's episode, featuring Bernard Cribbins in a contender for Worst Performance Ever, was one of the most annoying I've ever seen.
It does have its worthwhile episodes, though. Sometimes...
The Champions for starters. And Department S. And Adam Adamant.
All due out on DVD soon. The Champions boxset and the Adam Adamant one are going to be awesome! No particular details yet about the Department S release.
And, of course, for more Tony Anholt, there's two box sets of The Protectors already out. 'Cause you can't have too much Tony Anholt.
Amazing that Landau and Bain produced such a great actress as Juliette Landau (Drusilla).
I liked Space 1999 at the time, but it`s painfull to watch now!
******************************** John Smith: So what am I then? Nothing. I`m just a story.
Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.

The odd thing is that neither Landau nor Bain was that bad in Mission: Impossible. In Space 1999, though, they just make me want to tear my hair out!
As for The Champions, they had a reunion recently, Angelus, for the upcoming DVD box set. There's been some lovely pictures online of the three of them as they are now. Stuart Damon was featured quite heavily on the DVD release of The Adventurer, too. He really does seem like a great bloke.
