now i know that im strange, but i just finished watching the last few episodes of buffy and although im not a fan as such, i have grown to love it and cant stop watching it now. i just wanted to know what you thought of the last episode. i cried the daft shit that i am but it was so moving - the best i think loves ya clare
"everything in the end will be okay... if its not okay, then its not the end!"
I cried loads at the last episode. I thought it was a good positive ending. Plus I loved the humour, going on about the shops that would be missed etc. Giles muttering away to himself. And that smile on Buffy's face was just right. Ooh I just got a shiver there.
But I will never forgive them for Anya's death. Blink and you'd have missed it. And Xanders reaction was really disappointing "always doing the stupid thing". I mean, there should have been some grief!
Not every death in a battle is a big momentus occasion.
>>But he should have been more upset.<<
Having just barely escaped with his own life, I would imagine that the adrenaline was still very high. Had there been another season, or another episode, or even a few more minutes, he would have come down off his survivor`s rush and been more griefstricken.

Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.
I`m sure that were lots of occasions where someone somewhere would have liked to have seen something other than what was shown.
Personally I would have preferred to have seen more consequences of Buffy finding out that Xander lied to her in series 2 when Xander told her that Willow said to kick Angel`s a$$.

Thats a very good point actually. I thought it might have kicked off a bigger argument. But I guess there was just too much else going on and maybe it was just too long ago to really drag it all up again.
It was heavily edited on it's first beeb showing. I wouldn't have known Anya was dead if some b*stard hadn't spoiled me in advance. I was watching for her death and then it didn't happen.
I thought it was great, fantastic episode, I loved the commentary for it too. Joss whedon is a genius.
I did cry, It was very sad. It was the last episode after all!, I cried the most when Buffy and Spike had their last moment together, and Buffy finally told him she loved him and alas Spike didnt believe her, so typically Spike, that fool for love.
I cried when Andrew told Xander about Anya, I was hopeing that Anya and Xander would get back together in the future, But thats a no no now. Emma didnt want to reprise the role, I wish she did, It would of been nice to see her reprise her role in a future buffyverse project.
Sarah michelle Geller wanted The episode to be longer, it would of been nice if it was, But still I think Mr whedon did a great job.

you`d be surprised, quite a few of the published novels are very good. As are most of the Angel novels.

You think so, Angelus? I think they're dreadful. Lousy characterisation, and the plots aren't a patch on the TV series. They really are just published fanfiction, and the best that can be said for them is that they're better than the punctuation-less shipper nonsense written by twelve year olds.
I hate the Buffy and Angel books! (As you may have guessed...)

Yes, the odd hint filled sledgehammer did hit my head a few times.
Did you even dislike the Wes centric novels??

The ones I've read, yes. Lousy characterisation, like I said. They really write bad Wesley - but then they all write really bad Giles too. And bad Willow... and bad Ethan, and bad Lorne...

Just bad, really.
You`ve read a fair few then.

Yes, I saw the new pictures last night. It's a hideous costume! All is right with the world again - the Doctor is dressed in something I wouldn't wear if you paid me. I mean - brown pinstripe?! Ugh! Suits him nicely, though, doesn't it.
And it's nearly relevant to talk about Doctor Who here, with Tony Head appearing in the new series and all.
I particularly liked the game one (cant remember the title, Ive lent the book out).
Are there some more out soon? I ask hopefully.
In a moment, I`m going to swear some extremley naughty swear words. My wretched keyboard is playing up something chronic. I daren`t re boot my pc, because I`m participating in a news forum thread, and the only way I can get into the news forum at the moment is to keep the thread open. If I try and go in the normal way I keep getting asked to download something, -which I refuse to do cos I do`nt know what it is or why I should be asked to dl anything to open the news forum.

Yep. I agree with that.
I would have liked them to have explored the relationship between Faith and Spike that was hinted at in the episode where Faith and Buffy accidentally body swapped...the chemistry between them was intriguing and together they could have made brilliant villains for a story arc. (Though obviously Spike belongs with Dru, really...)
