sky holds onto those shows for dear life.
they could have put sf shows in 6-7pm daily slot but hollyoaks has driven out any show that ain't 1/2 hour long in that slot=friends/simpsons.
primetime sf on c4 is non starter, only e4 may get some in.

C4 did use to have stargate but that was a long time ago. The closest that e4 get to sci fi is Smallville.

Sky has Battlestar Galactica and Star Gate SG1 should have been renamed Soap Gate SG1. These programs have their hardcore fans but I don't think they're ratings drawers.

The problem with modern story arc sci-fi with multiple seasons, is that the ideas and stories are spread so thinly and a soapy element seeps in to pad them out. Judging by how little interest five and BBC2 had with repeats of "Voyager" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation", respectively, few, apart from hardcore fans, are particularly interested in seeing these shows again.

Smallville is fantasy rather than Sci-fi IMO.
