Used to sing that old song in school about crossing the Tamar. "A good sword and a trusty hand, a merry heart and true..." The Cornish independence thing has been going on for years without getting anywhere, which is weird given how patriotic Scotland seems to have got all of a sudden. Last time I was in Cornwall wearing a Queen T-shirt I got practically mobbed by some old(ish) guy chattering excitedly about the time Roger Taylor shouted "Up Truro" on Jukebox Jury. If Cornwall ever gets its independence, I think Roger will be the patron saint. They just played Bo Rhap on the radio, and now Imagine started up. Bravo, Virgin. don't start on trelawney... the cockatiel (That is housed about 1/2 a meter away from me goes by that name)...
..oh hell... "And who shall know the where and when? Or shall Trelawney die? 20 thousand cornish men shall know the reason why....."-- Ranger remembers her Step grandfather asking her to sing the national anthem and her coming out with that! (I was a bad child!! Whatam I sayin was?)
Would Mickey like a nice queen related story? 'Course he would! Well, as it goes Ranger had a brass teacher (Large queen fan, also large man) who got invited to a big music do at a rather large country estate... So dear music teachers there and suddenly he spots this guy who looks like Roger Taylor... he dismisses it as too many glasses of Champagne. He tells someone "That bloke looks like Roger Taylor." The reply comes: "That is Roger Taylor. This is Rogers house." "So who's the tall guy with the curly hair next to hi-HOLY SHIT! IT'S BRIAN MAY!!"
This was the only time he ever asked anyone for their autograph. I wonder what happened to music teacher. He dissapeared off the face of the earth.
Elenopa, all salutes and respects to your mother.. a little like the grand old duke of york yes.. but I have plenty of other REAL cornish songs... I played folk violin for two years... it was all my teachers fault (different teacher)... he got me started on the Kernow thing... and he's not even cornish! But having a first name thats the cornish word for Joy doesn't help with these things.
I don't know that Roger could replace St Piran as patron saint...he'd have to fight alex parks off.
As for B5... Hour of the Wolf... 1- Why does Cartagia have an apple? 2- Why does Lennier go on the girls mission? (We'll do mud-packs, manicures, and in the morning i'm making waffles!) 3- Does Marcus have his second name spoken any other time?

I don't know who St Piran is, but does he have a great singing voice, and a legenday capacity for partying and alcohol? I think Roger would win it. Cartagia has an apple because he's been watching too many gangster movies. Slice the apple. Look deranged. Lennier goes on the girls mission because he's a gentle soul. And at times ever so slightly camp. And hoping for a girlfriend who'll love him back, instead of 'moping-over-Sheridan' Delenn. Marcus doesn't like his second name. Maybe because it reminds him of his family. Maybe because he thinks having just one name is cool, like "Bono" or "Madonna" or "Topol". Sadly, however, he's making the fatal error of thinking that "Marcus" is a cool name. No. It's slightly less bad than "Kevin" or "Nigel", but still, not cool. You'd be better off with "Jack", or "Steve". Sorry Marcus. You want to slow down with the re-watch, Ranger. Otherwise what'll you do until S5 comes out?! Season 5- I have my crackly old videos! -- actually they're only a couple of years old so they're not too bad... and I do have to get to S5.. the Tempus Fugit universe is not being aided by me watching S4... although I finally got the next part up...and the final part of N:C is dialogued bar minor scene.. actually not so minor but not too taxing. Rangers had a bad thought... she'll have to take her S5 videos to uni with her for the first few months. DAMNATION! I associate Marcus with coolness, Nigel with Red Dwarf, and Kevin with my sisters boyfriend. Mickey I associate with mouse. I tease I tease! St Piran is actually the cornish saint...except hes irish.. i never got that part. "Perranporth" and "Perranwell" are derivates of the name... so they'd have to change their names and probably wouldn't favor that. "Thats a bloody awful lot of ships."

Isn't St Patrick, the Irish saint, Welsh? And St Andrew of Scotland was probably French. It's like a big game of musical chairs. And I think Rogerporth and Rogerwell are very good names. Mices aren't too bad. At least you don't associate Mickey with that blasted Toni Basil song! You won't have to take all your S5 videos with you. You're unlikely to have the chance to watch all of them during the ten weeks or whatever it is of your first term. "Someone's got to fight the good fight."46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS

Mickey- you took history didn't you? i'm taking creative writing- sod all lectures! Not to mention the campus is in the middle of no-where! But I was intendeing on playing Wuthering hights (NOT THE KATE BUSH SONG DIE DIE DIE!)--
I wasn't intending on watching all of them... but I always want something I don't have... like turkish delight... so when I got to uni i'll want to watch what i've left at home! If I had them on DVD already I wouldn't mind as I have all my dvd's in a carry case so it's all nice and compact. Videos are bulky and my copy of SIL crackels!.. but I have LOTRangers on that tape so i'd probably take it with me anyway!
Whats so cool about the name steve anyway?
QOTD: "and now for something completely different: a man with a stoat through his head."
If I go to uni i'll have to get up in the morning- but if I get a job i'll have to get up in the morning... damn!! Why does the world evolve around getting up before 12!
You still haven't convinced me with Roger.
Had a really sad thought that two of the beatles never reached 64... so much for vera chuck and dave.

There's nothing great about the name Steve - it's just what heroes always seem to be called in old movies and comics. And yes I did history. And sorry for the brevity. Just off to work. I thank you and goodnight. Exits stage left. "Someone's got to fight the good fight."46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS

Enter stage right. Back from work. Boring boring boring...and I have to go back tomorrow. Sigh.
(Tries to think of something where the hero's called steve...nope. I'm drawing a blank)
Has decided that in her great novel all the charecters will have cornish names. That'll be all the assertation of culture I need.
Ranger,

The hero in Land Of The Giants was called Steve, too (although everybody knows that Dan was best!). There were a whole lot of cowboys called Steve as well. It's one of those names that got churned out a lot in the old days, presumably as it didn't require much thought. Like 'Dan', 'Mark', 'Joe', etc. Then Joss Whedon came along, and suddenly heroes were called 'Rupert' and 'Wesley'. Yes, well... no accounting for taste! Cornish names, Ranger? You mean like... Roger?! "Someone's got to fight the good fight."46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS

6 million dollar man... oh no. And land of the giants... how old are you people?? My Tv memories begin with Doogie Howser, Original Trek and Sharky and George (The crime busters of the sea!)...
Speaking of million dollar man thought of a great Marcus resus fic... but i'm not sure i'm allowed to do more than one.
No Cornish names like: Lowenna/Sowenna/Morwenna, Merryn, Tristan/Tristram, ... hold on, i'll consult my online cornish dictionary....but then you're not really interested so why bother.... but the cornish word for thunder was cool... Tarenna. I like that. Besides, it doesn't sound like i've thrown some random sounds together like a lot of writers do to make names.
Roger is about as Cornish as Adam West....nananananananana BATMAN!!
Discovered what the hour of the wolf really is like last night... couldn't sleep for... something.... probably something to do with "Paint your Wagon" going right through my head....
"Got a dream boy! Got a song? Paint your Wagon and come along!... where am I going I don't know, when will I get there I aint certain all that I know is i am on my way..."
Oh no.........

I've had the entire soundtrack of Paint Your Wagon stuck in my head for the last fifteen years, so I sympathise entirely. Bad film, but for some reason I genuinely love the sountrack. Except for I Talk To The Trees, 'cause really, whoever told Clint Eastwood he could sing needs to buy a new pair of ears. And think about what you just said, Crazy. We're old for having seen The Six Million Dollar Man, but your TV memories begin with Star Trek TOS?! See, there's this thing called 'repeats'... Pick pick pick Mickey! Thats all you ever do!! Oh El... all you can say is "No Marcus?"... moan moan. Would it comfort you to know that he is pre-dominant in two of the last three scenes? (Which im going away to do now!)... I bring him back, I give him a rubix cube... theres no pleasing some people! Ranger- who complements elenopas scarf very much "Thats a bloody awful lot of ships."

Crazy - at least I reviewed You are allowed to do more than one Marcus ressurection fic. I did a Dr Who crossover one that just popped into my head once. My TV memories begin with Tom Baker, Thunderbirds repeats, Kojak and Blakes 7. Guess my age from that! Still stuck for a quote for the parish Mag. I thought of doing 'Delight, Respect, Compassion' but I did that March 2000. I might have to go for tock, but I wrote about Rick last month and it might be a bit depressing. There's nothing that fits in with life at the moment. I wonder if I've done 'Claim victory in your heart, and the universe will follow'? Must check. "Claiming Victory in your heart" doesnt work... trust me...i said that then was on the verhe of passing out 20mins later.
1 of 2 last scenes done! Old school Marcus!! (Was there such a thing as new school Marcus?)
ah, so I can do my idea for a fic... it just relies on bureau 13 still existing... they may have escaped being disolved after Clarke was gone... Maybe I should call it "Marcus in the web"... no, thats too odvious...
5-4-3-2-1...Thunderbirds are go!! I came out of the 90's thunderbirds resurgence.

'Claim victory in your heart' may not work for you, but I haven't used it yet, and I've just gone back over every article I can find since 1997.
Looking forward to more Marcus.
Only one week and two days of school left, then I may get some more writing done.

When your TV memories begin depends on your family, I think. My oldest sister is ten years older than me, so my earliest TV memories are totally different to other people my age. I was watching Starsky And Hutch and The Professionals when most of my contemporaries seem to have been watching nothing more than Bagpuss and Play School. We used to do the nostalgia thing at college, and I'd be saying "Remember Solo 1?" and "How about The Hardy Boys?" And everybody else would just be saying "Huh?!" quote: Originally posted by Elenopa Crazy - at least I reviewed
Yeah. I've got to get around to doing that some time, haven't I. I keep thinking about it, if that's any consolation... Kojak. The Kojak remake. I wonder who they'll get to play Bobby Crocker? I love the fact that you use Babylon 5 in your Parish mag. The local one here is so boring! It hasn't been any fun since they took away the children's page. I have no tenuously Biblical picture to colour in anymore. You could always use G'Kar's Interstellar Alliance Declaration Of Principles - unless it really has to be Marcus related of course! "I had dreams, average size. There were stars in the skies. Not my eyes." "Someone's got to fight the good fight."46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS

Done the declaration of principles. Mickey, if your parish mag is so boring, then write something for it yourself. I'm usually the last column, probably because I don't fit in anywhere else. Last month they had something after me . I might complain. Ranger Elenopa, You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

But that would require me to be associated with the Church. And the Parish Magazine. I only see it sometimes, as my mother has it delivered. Yes, complain! Having the last word is important! "Someone's got to fight the good fight."46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS

No more words written. but I have done 2 walls, a ceiling and myself (I am currently white, lilac and aubergine)... painting! I love it! (Apart from getting cramp in my shoulders from two coats before lunch).
As for the written word... i am about to undertake a scene which the Tracy Scoggin fanbase may never forgive me... but its their fault for not knowing who god is! (At least in the B5 sense... well B5 cannon... you know what I mean!)
I may go for the Centauri style decor in the room im decorating... maybe velvet curtains and a little centauri crest...if I can make a template sucessfully... failing that i'll do Rivendell.
Parish magazine... we leave it all up to bob the hairdresser. He knows what to say.
As for nostalgia... the man from uncle, randell and hopkirk, and sesame street. Good ol' sesame street.

So long as it's proper Randall And Hopkirk. With Mike Pratt and Kenneth Cope. None of this Reeves and Mortimer travesty! Painting is okay, but I hate doing ceilings. My bedroom ceiling has been the same colour for years, because I couldn't be bothered to paint it when I did the walls! It involves reaching. Actual effort. Why can't I just tell the ceiling which colour to be? Like I can with my computer desktop?! "Someone's got to fight the good fight."46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS

Because ceilings are like that Mickey! And I did mean real R+H. At the moments i'm going around telling everyone "Martys dead!" and getting odd looks when I do so- and rightly so.
Quick charecter question- would Marcus get away with calling Ivanova a stupid cow?- half affection, half meaning it. Or should I find a way less bovine to express this?
