Actually the plot was more- Marcus and Jack get hideously drunk, Teal'C and Lennier spend time and Daniel and Sheridan discuss dead wives.... Daniel and a Vorlon would be funny.

Actually, discussing last night a Kosh meet Marcus Fic... from Kosh's POV.... *Shut up! Shut up...*

My resus fic almost has a plot... We got Marcus, Ivanova, Lockley, stephen, Garibaldi, Zac...he heh heh--- im so EVIL to Lockley.

Marcus might be quiet meeting Kosh. Respect, and all. He doesn't tend to gabble at Delenn. On the other hand, if he was nervous he might gabble all the more!

Marcus and Kosh trapped in a lift. Smile

- "So, um... you're pretty ancient then. Been around. A lot."
- "I have always been here."
- "Really? That's... nice. Is that suit heavy? I was just wondering... I mean, superior technology... years of advancement. Just looks a bit cumbersome really. Bit heavy on the old shoulders. Probably doesn't make you very welcome in the market stalls, hey. You'd be forever knocking all the wares off the shelves. Apples all over the place."
- "Spilt apples. Like young races hurled across the galaxy."
- "Oh. Okay. Not a big market goer then. Still, I suppose it makes you look good on the dance floor, with those big shoulders. And the nice flowing cape thing. I'm quite into flowing capes myself..."

Smile

Nice. Smile

Ranger Elenopa,

You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

Yeah-- it was something like that...but I didn't think of using a real Koshism...silly ranger.

Why is it always easier to start writing at the end of a fic than at the beginning? probably because the conclusion is odvious- how to get there is not... should be interesting in places. Marcus tries to kill Lockely- twice.

No he doesn't suceed- but he has a good go... hense she wants him dead- hense Ivanova wants her dead- hense bring in Stephen before they all kill each other as Marcus didn't know what he was doing and we can prove it... trust me. It'll work.

Escapes from med-lab sucessfully though- he's still got it!

And about loosing his touch- well if you were frozen/dead for two years and then without knowledge of who you are for most of a fic you'd of lost your touch as well... Wink... he's making a few "invasion of the body snatchers" jokes...

Just how did Marcus escape from Medlab One in Matters Of Honour?! Is he capable of putting himself into suspended animation to fool the computers?!

Stop counting the words! It's fatal! Sit down quietly, make sure the characters are in your head, and just start typing. Let your fingers do all the work. I find it helps to have the radio or TV on. CSI and Law And Order on a Saturday night made for very good writing, but the seasons have just ended. Frown

And don't start watching really good TV. I've been hellishly distracted the last couple of days after somebody gave me a tape of a few episodes of War Of The Worlds. Happy Mickey, reunited with Harrison Blackwood. But also mucho distracted Mickey. Ah well...

We know from season 5 that the Rangers are trained in meditation to slow their heartbeat and breathing. Lennier did it to conserve air, and as Marcus' ship was badly hit in Matters of Honour it is likely he did the same thing.

Stephen had only breifly examined Marcus and so his comment that he was not going anywhere we can put down to human error.

Ah, the war of the worlds... would this be the musical with David Essex that my best friend plays to me continually? Thats quite cool... in an odd sort of kookie way... like my bestfriend... whos cool in an odd sort of Kookie way.

Genrally I work to music... TV distracts me too much as I only watch good TV. I like mood music... its very easy to write dream sequences to calming music or Enraged stuff with angry teen music... which I don't seem to have too much of.

Word counts, so thats what im doing wrong! Admitedly I got to the end and W-C-ed and I'd written a lot more than I thought I had... anyway. Thought up a nice end sequence... washing dishes is so inspirational. As for the charecters in my head... constantly! My inner Marcus is very vocal...

So anyway, running away to Minbar... I have writing to do.

Doing menial tasks is great for working out plot points. I thought up so many ideas when I worked as a chambermaid.

The first ideas for Rediscovering Marcuswere thought out whilst I changed beds. I suppose it's something to do with your mind being quiet. Certainly since I changed jobs I haven't had as much time to write, or think up ideas.

On another note, I'm going through one of my 'will I ever find a man?' phases.

Usually, I am quite happy going through life by myself. Every so often though I have a longing to find that special person; usually when someone I know gets married, or someone dies.

Do you know of any dark haired, bearded Rangers out there who might be interested in a 33 year old tomboy, slightly zany, hopeless romantic, wanabe Ranger, with unicorns intact?

'Fraid not. I know no-rangers... except me of course.

Men- PAH! who needs 'em? Actually thats just a front... I want a pet boyfriend again! Wink

I must be getting loopy...im actually researching and doing the minbari language as correctly as I possibly can...Marcus is saying things he shouldn't be again. But it's nothing she doesn't know about already...

Writing the mildly slushy bits. Not in the right frame of mind to write the nasty dramatic bits... oh, does anyone know when David Sheridan JR is born? It might help.

Oh Ranger... you child. No, I don't mean the musical WOTW, I mean the late eighties TV series. Which you would love, by the way. B5 fans always do seem to. It was a wonderful mix of the downbeat, funny, intelligent approach to sci-fi, with the good guys losing as many battles as they won, and a mix of quite shockingly violent bits thrown in just to keep you on your toes. Who could forget the episode when the aliens took over an ice hockey team, and one of them ripped the arm off a member of the opposing side?!

And Harrison Blackwood, one of the greatest characters ever, and a true eccentric. Not like characters now, who have their regimented quirks and are about as quirky as your staid Aunt Dora. Roll Eyes Everybody loves Harrison. Especially Marcus fans, interestingly enough. Might be the silly sense of humour. Smile

Just don't mention the second season. Frown

http://www.chronology.org/noframes/b-five/chron-usa.html for the birth of David Sheridan, anyway, and all your other timeliney questions. And Elenopa - being part of a couple is grossly overrated. Solitude is bliss! Smile

Thank you mickey- with all the minbari pronouns going around my head I couldn't work out for the life of me if David had been born yet...september of 63....starts end of 62, 63.. ok... David'll be about a couple of months old... in human terms. G'Quan knows what in Minbari terms. As long as I don't start using minbari words for everyday use... i once informed someone they were an honourless Qua'Hom and that there is no honour in killing a Qua'Hom- but that was being klingon- which you can spit over people when you use... you can't really spit Minbari.

Ah, TV show. Quirky charecters good- but ever since Buffy had quirky charecters everyones done quirky! (heh- I know what to use for QOTD now!) Mmm, quirky Marcus.

Solitude is not Bliss however when you're a B5 fan who watches and say "Why can't there be more men like Marcus in the world?"... then you go into deny reality mode.

QOTD:

"To free Acathla... you must perform the ritual...in a tutu you pillock!"

(Well it was something like that)

Buffy didn't have quirky characters. Anyway, WOTW was 1988, so way before Buffy. Every show wants to have quirky people on it now, and most of them are anything but quirky. It's daft.

Oh, but good old Harrison. I spent a large amount of time very much wanting to be Harrison Blackwood. I could never get hold of a tuning fork though. Roll Eyes Or find a man in uniform to annoy the hell out of. Well, there was my father, who had a uniform, and who I still annoy the hell out of, but with far less comic potential. Smile

Solitude is always bliss. People go through phases of wanting to couple up all over the place. And then what happens? They argue. Stay single. That way, you always get to choose what you watch on TV!

Question. Going through my books prior to moving house in the coming weeks, and why do I seem to have a copy of the 1978 Brownie Annual?!

I should have that one. Smile

You can always put it on Ebay. There are loads of collectors out there who buy stuff like that.

I still want someone who I can share my adventures with. i.e. go to the cinema and discuss the film intellegently afterwards; visit a museum and enjoy the exibhits together, something like that. A teddy bear doesn't really cut it.

I don't know- bears don't answer back, fall asleep or tell you your problems are boring. But they're not too good with museums- no.

If you ever want to talk film i have- (or will have on august the 11th) an A level in film studies... okay, i'm missing the point I know. Just trying to be nice... i'm not nice to just anyone Y'know.

Worked Vir in as well... also had Lockley be slightly less of a bitch. But her and Ivanova are still at odds.

There's a film thread on this forum, Elenopa. There's loads of people who use these things; best conversations I have all day are typed. Yes, I know it's not ideal, but just trying to keep your spirits up! Smile Plus the more I type the less giant chocolate buttons I can eat. Or at least, that's the theory. So far it's not working too well. Wink

Large inflatable objects make good companions too, incidentally, and boy that didn't sound half so bad when I started to type it. I don't mean that kind! I have a four foot tall inflatable Dalek who's great to chat to. And a three foot Tyrannosaurus Rex. And a two foot alien. And also a two foot banana, but he's far less chatty.

er....yes Mickey......keep taking the tablets.

It's not just the intelligent conversations I want. It's the phisically having someone else there at the point in time that I need.

I sometimes feel so desperately lonely Frown

Frown Poor Elenopa. I know how that feels, but then actively seeking out solitude will tend to do that. Roll Eyes You'll have to go companionship hunting at your next convention. At least that way you'll know they have good taste in TV!

In the meantime we'll make you feel less lonely, right Ranger? How do you feel about a sing-song?

He wants to do a sing song? ok, well as i evaded Karioke at work last night I suppose I should of guessed it'd catch up with me:

"Me and my shadow, strolling down the avenue.
Me and my shadow, not a soul to tell our troubles to..."

see... i'd sing for you Elenopa... and I sing for no-one.

Inflatable objects... I have an inflatable 5' spiderman... he's taller than me! I did have a giant hammer as well...
