*ahem* anyone seen any good films lately?

I watched K-PAX again last night. Aaah I love that film. I want to get to have a big alien vs mental patient debate, but most people I've asked haven't seen it Frown

Also, anyone seen Pi? We've been doing circles in maths at the moment, and every time my teacher mentions pi all I can think of is this disgusting scene from the film :S

Yeah I saw Pi a few years ago. Very weird film, intriguing but I think the ending left me unsatisfied.

I heard something about a new film which sounded a bit similar, something to do with weird mathematics or summat..

The only mathsy film I've heard about recently is Proof with Jakey.

The ending is a bit of a let down really, but the screwdriver thing's cool. It's nowhere near as good as Requiem Frown Looking forward to seeing his new film, The Fountain, and his episode of LOST Big Grin

I can't wait to see The Fountain either. Looks like it will be ace. I'm glad that Hugh Jackman is in it instead of that talentless berk Brad Pitt.

Did that come out on Friday? Might try and see it this week......but I want to see Walk The Line too. Jarhead and Brokeback are still on my list too but circumstances have prevented me from seeing those as yet.......dammit I get the feeling I'll be waiting for the DVDs!!!

Ooo Secretary is *so* good! I got it on Friday (£3 whooo Big Grin) and absolutely loved it. Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader are both so great at their parts - both funny and really moving at times.

I've seen K-PAX. I saw it in the cinema when it came out and i loved it. He came from a planet in the Constillations Lyra didn't he? I remember that and that he ate lots of bananas for potassium... and that he was an alien helping out his friend Smile

I watched them.
I love Final Destination, but the second one really was, i feel, just a cheap way to get money. It's really corny and stupid.
The second movie makes me laugh more than hide behind the sofa really.
I love the first one though, its really good and has a thought out plot I feel.
The Second one has a good bit where they're tying in how they knew the people in the first movie - interesting.
I want to see the third and before my mum banned me from seeing it because my brother went and saw it Saturday and came back really shaken up by it, but she's relented.
Now, if only i could get my friends to see it.
Smile

Thanks for that, love Mr Gyllenhaal. Have you seen Jarhead? I loved it, not as typical as your average american war movie.

SF - Yeah, he says he's an alien, but the ending leaves it open for you to decide whether he really is an alien or just a mentally ill man. I personally go for alien.

I *finally* watched The Usual Suspects last night. It's annoying though that, 'cause everyone has been ranting about the ending being so clever and something you'd never expect (even the DVD box says that) , it wasn't much of a shock. Clever film though. Gabriel Byrne's switching between Irish and American all the time was annoying, but Kevin Spacey makes up for that. He really should make books on tape...

People complain about Gabriel Byrne's accent, but nobody ever complains when Mel Gibson switches from American to Australian and back all the damn time. And at least Gabriel Byrne is a half decent actor. Razz

Usual Suspects annoys me every time. I love it right up until that ending, which claims to be clever but isn't.

Aaaah, but I don't watch Mel Gibson. I've never seen one of his films Big Grin

Just found out, they, well, Bryan Singer, is remaking Logan's Run. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

How about John Barrowman, then, switching from American to Scottish and back, all over the place?! Razz

God, Braveheart is the most boring film in the world. I fell asleep watching it, in the middle of the day. I never do that. Alot of guys seem to like it though.

I love his accent...s...When you have as much enthusiasm as him, you can get away with anything.

Stare away! I'd rather be stared at than watch Braveheart :P Most of the films I've seen would either fit into: anything from the 40s/50s that TCM show, indie/weird/'cult', crappy teen movie, musical or crime-y/excessive violence things that Dad owns. I should broaden my film viewing, but meh.

Ok, so Braveheart wasn't the best example. Mad Max one and two are flipping ace though.

I prefer Mad Max II and III. I is too nasty. Lethal Weapon I and II are also well worth watching, as is Gallipoli. Sadly, I have recently found Mel Gibson increasingly hard to watch, though. I know I shouldn't let my personal feelings for an actor get in the way of my enjoyment of their films, and usually I wouldn't, but in the case of Mel Gibson and also Arnie now, it's getting to be hard. Politics, maybe.
